What's your plan .... eliminate all IDs??

Sure. The Constitution says exactly that - Secure in my papers and secure in my travels - That means EXACTLY that I shouldn't have to provide ID, or even carry ID.

The ONLY time that ID should be required is in a criminal proceeding. The rest of the time I should neither be required or bothered. If I am law abiding I should be left alone to go on my own way.

One of the most indicative symptoms of the Nazi regime's authoritarian control was 'Papers Please'... Almost every portrayal includes that symptom because it is so self-evident.

Y'all bow to it - Desire it. Quick to join the club and get that emblem. And just as quick to provide it on request.

Back when that was written people were generally good for their word which is not the case any more.

Sure. But this is how to make it worse, not better.

I get the "mission creep" danger but y'all threw it out the door when y'all elected GWB.

YEP. Twice. The second time, barely, and only for the troops. Definitely the most regrettable vote I ever made, and the one that caused me to vow: Never again.

That ended 'mission creep'. That is correction.

And that is why I refuse to get on the band wagon today.

LOL!

IOW, you're a huge fan of 'SEAN"...the YouTuber who takes videos of public government buildings and of law enforcement in the midst of conducting investigations or of traffic stops.
All in the hopes of getting them to approach him and demand that he answer questions and provide his ID, etc..

I have no idea what you're getting on about.

What I am a fan of is that with the exception of crossing the border, or buying titled land, I didn't require any form of ID. My drivers license was lapsed by EIGHT YEARS due to lack of use. That's how present it was in my daily life. For thirty years I conducted business on my face - I didn't supply ID at the bank, or at any storefront. It wasn't necessary. Hell, even at the DMV, where I did a whole lot of business in cars, I don't recall having to provide ID - I told em who I was and that was it.

What changed? And how is this requirement for ID in all your ways any different than the reason why we don't want the government keeping records of gun purchases? Don't you see the far more egregious extension?

The Peace Bridge into Ontario is 15 minutes from my boyhood home in Western NY.

We could drive into Canada without any ID...just verbally respond to the booth attendant who asked "Where were you born"?

Now, you're required to show a passport.

September 11, 2001 changed everything.

No it did not.

I was hoping never to need to fly anywhere again, but Mr. M wants to take a trip next year for our anniversary. It probably wouldn't be good form for him to go by himself ...  :pondering:

Video recording in public is a First Amendment protected activity regardless who doesn't like it. It is therefore not 'probable cause' for a retard with a badge to demand ID from anyone acting within established law.

Real ID will prevent your airplane from falling out of the sky. You will be fine.

When my state started issuing "Real ID" as an option when renewing one's driver license, I took the extra steps to get it. Since it was probably going to become mandatory at some later point.

I couldn't care less about flying.
The last time I was on a commercial jet was 1984.

Don't expect to be getting on one again.

I only got a real ID to be able to exercise my second amendment rights in California and opened a whole can of worms when I got my birth certificate, all that was needed before was my DL, turned into a mess as the surname on my BC was not the same as I used for all my life.

LOL!  Agreed!  But they DO entertain me!

Confess I wouldn't have the cajones to not cooperate with police if stopped.
