Pregnant Tesla Passenger Injured After Unidentified Assailant Throws Rock Through Windshield

Police in Vancouver, Canada are investigating after a pregnant woman was seriously injured when an unidentified assailant hurled a large rock through her Tesla windshield last Sunday, March 30.

According to the Vancouver Police Department  the woman was traveling as a passenger in a gray Tesla around 8:45 p.m. when a two-pound rock came crashing through the windshield, struck her, and landed inside the vehicle.

Sgt. Steve Addison of the VPD said the woman was seriously injured and came within inches of dying. She suffered a “serious, but non-life-threatening injury, and is recovering,” he added.

Police are currently working to determine whether the attack was a politically-motivated act of violence, or whether the vehicle was targeted for another reason.

Investigators have examined the vehicle and have canvassed the neighborhood for additional evidence, local outlet Vancouver City News reported. As of this report, investigators have been unable to determine where the rock came from.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who might have dash cam footage taken on Nanaimo Street, between East 29th and East 22nd, between 8:40 and 9 p.m. on March 30 to come forward.

Not sure about BC law, but in many US States, throwing a rock at a moving vehicle is no different than shooting a gun at one.
