Rasmussen Poll: Trump's Approval Rating Takes a Dip

President Donald Trump's approval rating has entered negative territory in a poll conducted by right-leaning Rasmussen Reports, according to a new report.

The company's daily Presidential Tracking Poll on Friday showed that 49% of likely U.S. voters approve of Trump's job performance, with 50% disapproving.

The numbers included 33% who said they strongly approve of the job Trump is doing, compared to 40% who strongly disapprove, giving him a presidential approval rating of -7.

The shift marks the first time during Trump's second term in office that the Rasmussen tracker shows him with a net negative approval rating; and on April 3, his approval rating went below 50 points for the first time, reports Newsweek.

Several other polls are showing that Trump's approval rating has taken a dip in recent days.

According to a Newsweek average of 10 recently published polls, Trump's approval rating is at 47% with 49% disapproving.

This marks a flip from early March, when his approval rating was at 49% with 47% disapproving.

Meanwhile, in other polls:

RMG, March: 52% approving; 45% approving.
TIPP Insights, March: 44% approving, 45% disapproving.
TIPP Insights, January: 46% approving, 41% disapproving.
Marquette University Law School, March: 46% approving, 54% disapproving.
Marquette University Law School, January: 48% approving; 52% disapproving.
Reuters/Ipsos Poll, March 31-April 2: 43% approving, down 2 percentage points from a poll taken from March 21-23 and 4 points below the 47% approval shortly after taking office in January.

Fears over how Trump is handling the economy appear to be the motivating factor behind the dropping numbers, including with his new tariff program, reports Newsweek.

Nolte: Media Fail — Trump Job Approval Rises 4 Points to 53%

John Nolte 6 Apr 2025

President Donald Trump’s job approval rating rose four points during Tariff Week, from 49 percent to 53 percent.

The poll was taken by DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners of over 1,000 registered voters between March 31 and April 3.

Donald Trump’s four-point jump in job approval was not the only surprise.

Since March 7, Trump’s job approval from young voters between 18 and 29 jumped 13 points.

Among Independents and Democrats, Trump enjoyed a six-point increase.

Most telling, support from black voters jumped 17 points in a single week.

Finally, more people support than oppose Trump’s tariffs on foreign countries by a margin of 39 percent support and 37 percent oppose. Twenty-four percent were unsure.

When asked if they support “significantly reducing” the number of illegal immigrants coming into the country, 69 percent said yes.

When asked about “significantly reducing” the number of legal immigrants, a plurality of 46 percent said yes, while only 26 percent said no.

It should be noted that the poll was taken before the Stock Market dropped on Thursday and Friday. But it should also be noted that this is after the Regime Media coordinated a regime-wide tantrum over DOGE, the ridiculous SignalGate nothingburger, and the hoax about a gang member deported to El Salvador in error. It’s all so stupid, and Normal People see right through it.

Keep on telling yourself that.  That "long game" you speak of is 4 years max, and realistically, only 2.

Trump is implementing some tough changes, and the market reacting negatively is no surprise.  But over time, I believe his efforts will have fruit that enhance many things in the USA.

The fact that he is contracting government spending is admirable, for every POTUS since and including Reagan promised to do it, and in reality, they increased spending.

The abuse by friendly nations to the USA has gone on for entirely too long.  And frankly, we need to get strategic about many industries.  Pharma for one.  The federal government should demand that 80% of pharma should be made in the USA and NOT in China.

Other key industries necessary for supplying our military should also be looked at.  We should not be reliant on any other country to supply materials/parts for the military in any way.  In the event of a war, we would have our backs against the wall quickly the way things are.  There is not one lead producing plant in the USA.  The last one was shut down by the EPA.
