The Trump administration has introduced measures to restrict federal housing assistance to those without legal immigration status. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner has announced that non-permanent residents are no longer eligible for Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgages. The policy has prioritized lawful residents in distributing taxpayer-funded benefits.
