WSJ claims Pete Hegseth brought wife to ‘sensitive’ meetings – spox says story ‘filled with inaccuracies’
March 29, 2025 | Chris Donaldson

Democrats calling for the resignation of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth got more fodder for their demands when a major media outlet dropped a story that he brought his wife to “sensitive” meetings, adding fuel to the “Signalgate” fire.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Jennifer Hegseth attended a March 6 “high level meeting” with her husband and U.K. Secretary of Defense John Healey, a day after the U.S. said it would suspend sharing intelligence with Ukraine in NATO’s proxy war on Russia. According to the outlet, Mrs. Hegseth also attended a NATO meeting during a trip to Brussels in February, “where allied defense officials discussed their support for Ukraine, according to two people who attended the meeting.”

More Laughable Attacks on Pete Hegseth Show Just How Dangerous He Is to the Left's Agenda
streiff

Days after the attempt to force Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth from office over the "Signal-gate" affair, new attacks have been launched to question his judgment and abilities.

As I reported yesterday, one of the most unusual features of last week's excitement over several members of the Trump administration discussing an impending air attack against the Houthis using the Signal encrypted communications app was that the left's target was not National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who organized the group chat, but Pete Hegseth; see Why Has the Left Targeted Pete Hegseth for Destruction Over the 'Signal' Kerfuffle?

Today, two new stories are in circulation. Both are stupid, but both are calculated to make Hegseth look sloppy about security and generally inept.

From the Wall Street Journal: Exclusive | Hegseth Brought His Wife to Sensitive Meetings With Foreign Military Officials.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who is facing scrutiny over his handling of details of a military strike, brought his wife, a former Fox News producer, to two meetings with foreign military counterparts where sensitive information was discussed, according to multiple people who were present or had knowledge of the discussions.

But if we read further to paragraph three, we find:

A secretary can invite anyone to meetings with visiting counterparts, but attendee lists are usually carefully limited to those who need to be there and attendees are typically expected to possess security clearances given the delicate nature of the discussions, according to defense officials and people familiar with the meeting. There is often security near the meeting space to keep away uninvited attendees.

Love the WSJ, as its the only rag on my reading list.  But...  seeing an alarming trend of anti-Trump slant from them lately.

I am guessing DJT is starting to seem to be a threat to their hegemonic dominance.  When a POTUS starts having more sway on the day-to-day than the power brokers, you might start seeing a revolt.  And that revolt from big business might get seriously ugly if Trump's tariff strategy doesn't play out like he plans.

You'll know that sway is starting when you start seeing Wall Street influencing GOP Senators and Reps to push back on the Trump agenda.

Stay tuned.

The One Thing to Keep in Mind About the Latest Story Involving Pete Hegseth
Matt Vespa

There is a plot to get rid of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The Signal story didn’t do damage. Trump’s approval rating increased, which even CNN had to reveal, and Hegseth still runs the Pentagon. The deep state tried to ensnare the Trump administration over this little chat on Signal. Top officials in this government-approved encrypted messenger app, including Hegseth and National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, discussed anti-Houthi operations. The problem: a staffer accidentally added The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, who claimed top-secret war plans were discussed.

No classified information or war plans were divulged. Goldberg was so sure that these were classified documents that he revealed them after declaring he wouldn’t because The Atlantic wanted to show how they were responsible for supposed state secrets, etc. etc.—he did it because he’s a known anti-Trump writer whose credibility shot up his initial story, which was dying on the vine.

The Wall Street Journal now alleges that Hegseth’s wife was present at meetings where sensitive information was discussed. Who’s the source? Oh, right—it’s anonymous again (via WSJ):

One of the meetings, a high-level discussion at the Pentagon on March 6 between Hegseth and U.K. Secretary of Defense John Healey, took place at a sensitive moment for the trans-Atlantic alliance, one day after the U.S. said it had cut off military intelligence sharing with Ukraine. The group that met at the Pentagon, which included Adm. Tony Radakin, the head of the U.K.’s armed forces, discussed the U.S. rationale behind that decision, as well as future military collaboration between the two allies, according to people familiar with the meeting.

  • Well EXCUSE me!
My only question, is Hegseth’s wife a coke snorting, pedophile , felon? If not, and we know she’s not, then STFU! Because you think Hunter attending national security was an issue.

"Dr." Jill chaired at least one cabinet meeting, and who knows what Hunter was doing in and around the White House. I quite agree with your STFU exhortation.

MY take is that this is a "Look Squirrel" moment for the dims, who are desperately trying to find ANYTHING to pin as negative on Trump Administration.  They are even calling for hearings:   :silly:

If they do....   I demand that Goldberg is given a seat, and answers these questions:

1. Who granted you a Signal Account, and how was.were the ID's configured
2.  Who put you on this chat?
3. Once you knew, and thought it might be a national security issue, why didn't you alert the particpants.
4. Why did you wait 4 days to bring this up as. a problem, and chose to air in on twitter, instead to the Intelligence Subcommitte dim co-chair.
