Ukraine is none of our business.
Europe is none of our business.
Taiwan is none of our business.
NATO is none of our business.
I see these positions every day here.
And it's called isolationism.
"America First" also includes keeping the peace so we don't end up fighting another world war. Retreating from the world is a certain path to war. It always is.
While the events in those theaters will affect us, sooner or later, the question which remains is one of our level of involvement relative to the nations which sit just behind those borders, across from aggressor nations, who have depended on our defensive penumbra while they lecture us on suicidal energy and social policies.
This is a wake-up call for the nations of Europe, lest we end up saving their bacon again at the cost of countless American lives and trillions of dollars worth of materiel. If they wish to remain free from the neoSoviet, they need to use their wealth and capabilities to take a more active part in their own defense.
In the meantime, we're looking at the growing hegemony of the CCP in the Far East, and the almost inevitable war of conquest which will be launched there.
Our current position is hardly 'The Arsenal of Democracy', and we need to revitalize our own manufacturing and mining/resource sector, as we are far behind the curve, in mineral asset development, manufacturing, and especially in terms of a suitable workforce to build the implements of modern warfare.
This is a reflection of the damage done to American Education, to the fundamental skill levels of students for decades, and in contrast to the people who once built their own bulldozers in their garages/farm shops in the 50s.
