I am well aware of the most imminent threat our country faces...... 

...and I find it strange that the Uke at all cost crowd never even barely mentions the Chicoms.  Why is that?  I guess the koolaid bucket never goes dry.

China is not threatening the US over Greenland. This topic being about Greenland.

And Hamas and Hezbollah "couldn't even conquer Israel".

Does that mean Israel should downplay the threat they pose?

Visiting an American base, and not actual Greenlanders, will never win them over.

And sending Vance was probably not the best choice, given his oft-expressed anti-European sentiments. Team Trump should have sent somebody in the Administration who is actually pro-Europe, like .... uh ....

Best to keep Greenland as a territory, and not admit it as a state.  I have a feeling them butter-cookie-loving-socialists would vote for Dems.

There's an independence movement in Greenland that is pro-US.  As Reuters reported in Feburary:

... "Trump's comments and the new line from the U.S. administration has definitely given the independence movement here more momentum," Juno Berthelsen, a candidate in the March 11 election for the Naleraq party, told Reuters.

Naleraq, the most prominent political voice for Greenland's independence, is campaigning to invoke an article in a 2009 law that granted Greenland increased autonomy, including the right to negotiate full independence.

Once invoked, Greenland will begin negotiations with Denmark, which provides annual grants vital to Greenland's economy. Any agreement will require approval by the Danish parliament and a referendum in Greenland. ...

Needless to say, Denmark is opposed.

US representatives canvassed door-to-door in Greenland as part of a “charm offensive” to sound out whether residents would welcome a visit from Usha Vance, it has been claimed.

The second lady and one of her sons had been set to visit the Danish territory this week after Donald Trump continued to inflame tensions by announcing it should come under US control.

Ahead of her visit, staffers reportedly spent a week traipsing around Nuuk, the capital city, to gauge the feeling among residents.

“The Americans’ charm offensive mission has failed,” Jesper Steinmetz, a reporter for TV 2, said.

“They have finally understood what the Greenlanders here in town have been trying to tell them for a little over a week: ‘We don’t want visitors right now’,” he said.

Mr Steinmetz added Americans had been “deployed” in Nuuk and were “knocking on doors and ringing doorbells” to ask if residents would welcome a visit from Mrs Vance.

“They’ve gotten no, no, no, no, no, every single time,” he said.
