Senate Democrats are dancing with the devil in the sinister form of a Schumer shutdown.

Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) announced Wednesday afternoon following a lunch with his Democrat caucus that he would reject a House-passed government plan to keep the government funded past the Friday deadline through the end of the fiscal year, September 30.

“Funding the government should be a bipartisan effort, but Republicans chose a partisan path, drafting their continuing resolution without any input — any input — from congressional Democrats,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. “Because of that, Republicans do not have the votes in the Senate to invoke cloture on the House CR.”

Legislation in the Senate requires 60 votes to invoke cloture – a necessary step in ending debate and advancing a bill.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune is calling Schumer’s bluff. He moved forward Wednesday evening to schedule a vote to invoke cloture Friday.

Dear Federal Workers,

If you are elligible for retirement, take it.  You can always double-dip or triple-dip by working for someone other than the Federal Government.

Do you really want these Swamp ass-clowns messing with your familiys' lives and futures?  Do you really want to worry about making the mortgage payment or making your child's next tuition payment because these over-educated clods can't get their $h!t together?

You are expendible pawns on a political chessboard.  You don't matter.  Your achievements and contributions don't matter.  Work for an employer that sees and appreciates your value.

Maybe you set out to serve your country, your community, and your neighbors.  But, now you are serving the short-sighted, feeble-minded politicians who only care about themselves.

I don't know whom our Federal Government serves, but its certainly not serving the people who have to work for a living.

Good luck on retirement or seeking outside employment opportunities.

A CR is not a budget.  A CR is a capitulation to Dems.  A CR is a win for Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.

If this was a real budget, there would be a 'Budget Reconcilliation' - between House and Senate versions - after Senate approval.

'Budget Reconciliation' is where fiscal conservatives could get out their chainsaws and make real cuts to Federal spending.  Nancy Pelosi was able to exploit 'Budget Reconciliation' to force the Affordable Care Act upon America by one vote, without debate and without amendment.

Johnson is another disappointment as GOP House Speaker.
