Sanctuary State Accused of Defying ICE By Blocking Migrant Records
Story by Emily Prescott • 11h

New York state is currently engaged in a legal battle with the Trump administration over the Green Light Law, which prohibits federal agents from accessing driving records of illegal immigrants. Enacted in 2019, the law allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses while blocking federal enforcement from accessing their information without a warrant. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi asserted that the law obstructs federal immigration enforcement and violates the Constitution's supremacy clause.
