I read a recent Consumer Reports that rated the Chevy Colorado very low. We have a 2019 Colorado, purchased used, and it's performed perfectly. Couldn't be happier. It's a mystery how brands go downhill so quickly.
It makes me wonder how much of it may be internet sniping, and not actual owner reviews driving the downturn. Then again, about half the tech in some models is something I would not use and could do without. I can get a good tire pressure gauge, for instance, for about ten bucks, and using my MK1 eyeball, I know when to check them. Sound/handling changes herald a problem, and I don't generally drive over stuff that might hurt my tires.
Back up cameras? that's what mirrors are for. If there's any doubt, get out and check. I like my 'primitive' 20th century vehicles, though. They are easier to work on and have fewer things to go wrong.
