I'm having a really hard time finding my give-a-damn over folks who have climate controlled offices and scads of benefits who are having a hard time typing out a damned email. Take ten minutes and get it done. Less time to do it than bitch about it. Sheesh!
I think you have not quite got their environment correct.

Most of these employees are at home, wearing shorts and not having to even undertake a commute to work, eating three meals a day at home.

And BTW, let's be honest @Smokin Joe - you geologists love to work outdoors wearing your steeltoed boots and do not readily enjoy sitting behind a desk all that much, do you?  At least the hundreds of them I have met over my career in the oilfields.

Dunno. Never worked in an actual office.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I wonder how many of these millions of jobs within the bureaucracy actually have job descriptions. Too many gubmint employees seemed to go about it without any consideration of what they were supposed to be doing, so it was okay just to sit at a desk and swat paperclips around. Maybe that's why they can't come up with five tasks.

I have little or no sympathy.  Worrying about your job and future is a way of life for everyone in the private sector.  Be it for performance or for business reasons like a facility shutdown.   What makes these pukes think that they are special?

This man will end Trump.

This is harassment.  And if Trump/Musk get away with this, you can bet every corporation in the USA will be mirroring this behavior.

I’m sort of ambivalent towards this email, as I have to complete a timesheet.  But you have to wonder if all of these staff reductions, return to office mandates, and whatnot are well considered.  Or is it just going to result in unsolicited chaos and job insecurity.  Many of the federal employees have important roles, and we have to convince talented people to work there.  If a sector is going to be privatized, that debate needs to happen in congress.  Otherwise you scare every government-adjacent voter into the democrat party.

I am curious how many of the 'people' in these positions do not actually exist, except as devices on paper to swell the ranks of the department and bring in additional funding. Remember, Katrina exposed the 'existence' of some 50 'ghost' police officers on the force.

If they aren't real, they are not likely to respond, and none would protest so loudly as those who benefited from such a scheme.

Maybe I am getting old.  I really don't remember WJC doing this.  Of course, I probably had a mental block on anything decent Slick Willie did back then.

IIRC they were all from the ranks of our military forces. Bill Clinton was, is, and will be forever A Commie SOB!
