Another major company moving from CA to TX, with more than 100k residents who made the move in 2023

Every year, as California ranks last or near last, Texas ranks first as the best state for business, for attracting new businesses, such as Realtor.com, first for job creation, job growth and economic expansion.

As the California business exodus continues, the latest to leave is Realtor.com, relocating its corporate headquarters from Santa Clara, Calif., to Austin, Texas.
 
Realtor.com is a leading provider of online real estate services and is a subsidiary of News Corp. It says Austin as a top hiring location makes it a smart choice for long-term growth and a base to expand its footprint in Texas.

“Over the last few years, Realtor.com® has invested in its Austin location through hiring, supporting the local community through numerous charitable events, and developing new talent through its Austin-based internship program,” it said in a news release. By relocating its headquarters to Austin, it says it’s expanding its investment in talent development.

California is in trouble.  They are losing their tax base and spending money like they are printing it.  Things will continue to worsen, and more businesses will have no choice but to move elsewhere.  It is like an avalanche, with people and businesses accelerating their exit.

I worked in the oil business in California, and the state is blessed with 4 of the top ten fields ever discovered.

Yet the state puts such stringent demands on producers and refiners there, it is difficult to make money, so their plentiful mineral resources are not being fiscalized for the citizens benefit.

Gasoline is $2/gallon higher that in Texas due to taxes and regulations.

Until enough of the electorate decided enough is enough, California will be what it is. A tremendous chunk of real estate with bountiful resources, run by idiots.

I think it is safe to say that those with a brain and the freedom to pick up and leave will leave.  That leaves the idiots behind to continue to destroy the state, and destroy it they will.

They are utterly clueless, including the current Gov Newsom, who is spending money the state and taxpayers do not have. 

The federal government should take a look at seizing the California government, and doing a DOGE on it, for it is out of control.

My first thought as well.

But being an optimist, I have read that there are many conservatives in Cali. Maybe they will turn Austin red? Anything is possible.
