Don't blame the firefighters, it is the state "experts" and "environmentalists" that prevent controlled burns.

I live right next to a National forrest. Several "accidents" occurred in that forrest during the time the idiots were running things. They are back to doing prescribed burns regularly now.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

No, the firefighters bear some of the responsibility here too. I've seen it myself that some of them have a weird fetish for putting out every single fire...even when you tell them you're doing a proper burn they can still show up and try to insist on putting it out because "FIRE!!!"

Their fetish translates into policy as these people move up the ranks into leadership.

This is why I am so cautious with my charity. Too many charities these days are just scams that redirect their funds to the Democrats either indirectly or outright.
Yeah, just like the Red Cross did, which is why I don’t donate to them.

🤔I seem to have gone back in time on this thread, no matter.

If the idiot firefighters and the idiot environmentalists would allow normal fires to burn off undergrowth then you'd be right: the risk would be pretty low.

We live not far from Yellowstone and every five or six years we do a series of controlled burns to clear off the brush and fuel around our ranch and our leased land.

A few years ago they had a fire in the park and it ended when it reached our fenceline.

It wasn't magic that stopped the fire it was the same common sense the Natives used to control forests for thousands of years.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

That sounds like a local problem. When I was a firefighter, we assisted with controlled burns to keep them from getting out of hand, but didn't extinguish them until the property line (usually a backfire line).

More on investors - with very, very close ties to CHINA - scooping up fire-destroyed California prime real estate:

Jennifer Van Laar
@jenvanlaar
🔴 EXCLUSIVE: The foreigners buying the burned-out lots at La Costa Beach in Malibu are New Zealand's Mowbray brothers, founders of Hong Kong-based global toy giant Zuru.
Here are the incorporation docs for three of their shell corporations, which they used to purchase the lots - some of which were not on the market.

Jennifer Van Laar
@jenvanlaar
Zuru recently launched Zuru Tech, which will build concrete, pre-fab homes - manufactured in its 8-acre facility in China, which would then be shipped to the US to place on the burned-out lots, founder Nick Mowbray announced at the China Business Summit in NZ in July.
(So why all the secrecy in the US? Trying to keep landowners from knowing what's going on?)
