There Should Be No Price Tag For Border Security

Securing the border will cost money, but leaving it open will be far more expensive, as a new government accountability report demonstrates.
U.S. taxpayers were on the hook for over $150 billion to support illegal aliens in 2023, according to a new report from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a department headed up by Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
The cost of illegal immigration is staggering, but not shocking, given that more than 10 million illegal aliens have entered the U.S. since the Biden Administration took office. Several of the nation’s biggest cities, including Chicago and New York, have faced budget crises due to the influx of illegal aliens into their areas. Still, none of this will stop the mostly bad-faith handwringing sure to face the incoming Trump Administration as it seeks to restore the rule of law in America’s immigration system.
President-elect Donald Trump won a resounding victory at the ballot box last month largely based on his promises to fortify the U.S. border and deport the millions of illegal aliens who have invaded our country. Shortly after his election, Trump vowed that no price tag will limit his willingness to restore America’s sovereignty.
