William H. Webster, a longtime U.S. public servant who served as the head of both the FBI and the CIA, has died. He was 101.

The FBI confirmed his death in a statement Friday.

Webster, who was the only person to have led both agencies, "was a dedicated public servant who spent over 60 years in service to our country, including in the U.S. Navy, as a federal judge, director of the CIA, and his term as our Director from 1978-1987," the FBI statement said.

A statement from Webster's family said, "We are proud of the extraordinary man we had our lives who spent a lifetime fighting to protect his country and its precious rule of law."William H. A pioneer of contemporary Christian music since the Jesus movement of the 1970s, LoveSong cofounder Chuck Girard passed away in the presence of his family on Monday afternoon.

Born in Los Angeles, Chuck brushed with Billboard Chart fame as a teenager with The Hondells but became a high school alcoholic. He and his fellow musicians became disillusioned with life during the hippie movement of the 1960s, until they found Jesus at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, CA.

Band mates Tommy Coomes and Fred Field were the first to accept Jesus, but Chuck was wary. When he reluctantly came to Calvary Chapel for the first time and heard the young people passionately singing simple folk songs, his heart was moved. 

“God began to just hit me,” Chuck declared, gesturing to his heart. “I just broke. I had tears, snot, goo all over my face, my beard.” He surrendered his life to God.

Calling their band LoveSong, Chuck, Tommy, Fred, and Jay Truax dedicated their talent to God and started writing songs about Jesus—later joined by John Mehler and Bob Wall. Encouraged by Calvary Chapel founder Chuck Smith, LoveSong played at Calvary weekly, and crowds were singing their songs like “A Love Song,” “Little Country Church,” “Welcome Back,” and “Let Us Be One.” ...

I will say this much: the sheer speed of our cultural descent into sexual anarchy seems to have gone into full turbo mode since Dobson retired. His absence from the public sphere has been felt tremendously which should say a ton about his influence that he held such a strong influence in holding back the forces of "free love."

And while some of his ideas are making a comeback, it has never felt as authoritative as it was.

Legendary fighter pilot and first US ace of the Vietnam War Randy “Duke” Cunningham passed away

Cunningham has been in and out of the hospital for the eight months with heart problems and other issues.

Cunningham was a retired US Navy commander and former F-4 Phantom pilot in VF-96, who along with his Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) Willy “Irish” Driscoll was the first US ace of the Vietnam War.

He was an officer and pilot in the United States Navy for 20 years.

Following the Vietnam War, Cunningham became an instructor at the Navy’s Fighter Weapons School (better known as TOPGUN) and commanding officer of Fighter Squadron 126 (VF-126), a shore-based adversary squadron at NAS Miramar, California.

I strongly recommend you look up their record The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands, where they send up just about every genre popular at the time, including themselves! They had some legendary battling with the music industry over the years, too.
