US Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Tuesday that the agency deported a Jordanian illegal immigrant who was identified as a known or suspected terrorist after he was arrested by Border Patrol near Lynden, Washington while attempting to cross the northern border illegally.
ERO Seattle assumed custody immediately and, on November 15, after immigration proceedings, removed 41-year-old Mohammad Hasan Abdellatif Albana, who has ties to terrorism, to be deported to his home country of Jordan.
Field Office Director Drew H. Bostock said in a statement: “ICE Seattle is committed to the removal of noncitizens who pose a risk to the national security of the US. Our officers perform these removals dutifully as a part of a federal law enforcement effort to protect Pacific Northwest Communities.”
