  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
The level of stupid or arrogance, can't decide which right now, this guy exhibited amazes. He didn't get rid of anything incriminating apparently. Had it all on him at the time of his arrest. Luigi is about to get a cold, hard dose of reality.
My thoughts, too.

I would not have dug a hole and buried anything intact, but had a nice little fire pit.
The 3-D printed gun and any IDs used would have been destroyed right there, the barrel of the gun (presuming a metal liner) hammered to unrecognizability, and the hole filled in.

I get that in MD it might be harder to get a pistol than it would be for those of us from states with more civilized gun laws, but it's MD. Printing one might be a cheaper and definitely less traceable alternative.
If the suppressor was homemade (3-D printed) it would have been dismantled and destroyed as well. Most such guns are only good for a few rounds, anyway, and even if the melted bits were found, pretty much untraceable.

But here we go, got the guy with all the evidence a DA could want, with the same clothes and kit as he had in NYC, even the mask, and not so much as an eyebrow trim to change his looks.
But wait! There's more! He even comes with a manifesto!

This is Ivy League material?

CEO killing suspect not talking to police: source

Luigi Mangione, the suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's killing, is refusing to talk to authorities, Fox News Digital has learned.

“Suspect didn't say a word. He refused to talk,” a law enforcement source told Fox News Digital.

At least he showing himself smart when it comes to running his mouth.  When they tell you you have the right to remain silent, the best thing to do is to remain silent.

I will predict that the gun they found him with is NOT the gun used to kill the victim.  This trial will be very interesting.

The chilling case of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s assassination has taken another bizarre turn with the release of a cryptic video allegedly posted by the accused, Luigi Mangione. YouTube swiftly removed the footage, but not before it sparked rampant speculation about the message Mangione promised to deliver.

The chilling handwritten manifesto allegedly penned by Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old arrested in connection to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has surfaced online, sending shockwaves through the public. The three-page note, which law enforcement sources describe as condemning corporate America, offers a disturbing glimpse into Mangione’s alleged motives.

UnitedHealth CEO assassination reeks of a disastrous and hasty coverup.

Why do people assume this wasn't made up by a 3 letter agency? Why assume it was his?

Family of UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting suspect says they are 'shocked' by son's arrest
Luigi Mangione, 26, was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after 5-day manhunt
By Stephen Sorace Fox News
Published December 10, 2024 7:44am EST

The family of Luigi Mangione, the man charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City, have spoken out for the first time following his arrest on Monday.

Mangione's cousin, Maryland State Delegate Nino Mangione, released a statement on behalf of the family, saying they cannot comment on the news reports or allegations regarding Mangione.

"We only know what we have read in the media," the family statement said. "Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest. We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson and we ask people to pray for all involved. We are devastated by this news."

Nino Mangione said he would not be commenting further on the matter.

... will family mount an "insanity" defense, or will Luigi Marx put capitalism on trial?

Will they attempt to claim he was brainwashed by a cult of Ivy-League Liberal Arts majors and professors?

Probably something along the lines of insanity.  The back surgery looks terrible.  Apparently it was unsuccessful, and I bet he was using some powerful substances over an extended period.

Adding to Luigi's humiliating capture and exposure as a cowardly murderer is his Hawaiian roommate's disclosure that Luigi told him his love machine no longer functions after a surfing accident rearranged his spine.  So his cellmates in prison are going to be woofing on him relentlessly.

Okay you can 3D print a lower for sure and maybe buy a slide and barrel using false information, but where do you buy the fire control group without going through an FFL?Do you buy buy it on the street illegally? If you are going to do that then why waste the time fabricating when you could just buy gun and silencer complete on the street? I just don’t see the logic and this guy certainly had the money to buy whatever he wanted without making some semi functional cockup.

My guess is he's a techie nerd that isn't all that bright that thought it was cool to 3D print the parts that he could. His "plan" was a trainwreck other than successfully killing his target in a very cowardly way.

There are literally hundreds of 3D printable designs for trigger groups on line. Google it.
What is odd about this, is that if the pistol and suppressor were 3D printed, it was likely for this specific target, not for something he intended to put 100s of rounds through. Even the barrel need not be much more than a piece of pipe. It's basically a high tech zip gun. Chamber and other dimensions can be found here: https://saami.org/technical-information/cartridge-chamber-drawings/

All the info is out there to make something that will work.

But the shooter should have kept in mind (if they wanted to get away) that all of this effort would be to construct something disposable, one use and done, to be destroyed as soon as it was 'safe' to do so.

Unless....

Consider the apparent reason for the killing of this CEO is not just reprisal, but is to send a 'message' to other CEOs.
With the Left's reaction, this is an act of violence intended to change the behaviour of a group of people out of fear, the very definition of a terrorist act.

Regardless of motive, or the other facts of the case, with manifesto and writing on cartridge cases, that appears to be the case. So not so simple as murder, and he failed to destroy the evidence.

Which makes little sense, except in the case he wanted no one to know beforehand (so he could ambush hunt the CEO unopposed by security), and didn't care afterwards because the 'message' had been sent.

There is no 'message' if he isn't caught, if the manifesto (or whatever it is) does not get out. It's just a random appearing shooting.

There’s something very weird about the do-nothing son of billionaires who appears to have never encountered a hurdle he couldn’t have his parents pay to get out of his way calling a CEO who came from actually nothing and worked his way to the  c-suite over the course of a remarkable career a “parasite.”
It’s not even a remarkable manifesto. Like, he’s no Unabomber. It reads like he copied it off Reddit. And not, like, *intelligent* Reddit. Like one of those atheist subreddits full of sixth graders.

More than $50,000 donated to Luigi Mangione in online fundraiser
By
Andi Shae Napier
December 12, 2024 2:58 pm
.

More than $50,000 has been raised for Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, in an online fundraiser.

Since the shooting on Dec. 4, money has flooded into the GiveSendGo fund created by the December 4th Legal Committee. The money is for Mangione’s legal fees, and a quarter of the $200,000 goal has been met, with $51,401 collected as of Thursday.

“This is a preemptive legal fundraiser for the suspect allegedly involved in the shooting of the United Healthcare CEO. We are not here to celebrate violence, but we do believe in the constitutional right of fair legal representation,” the December 4th Legal Committee wrote on GiveSendGo.

Mangione was declared a suspect in Thompson’s murder and arrested Monday, prompting thousands of people to donate and send messages of support and celebration. Many commenters expressed dissent with the U.S. healthcare system and stood with Mangione in solidarity.

AOC on Insurance CEO’s Murder: People Interpret Denied Claims as ‘Act of Violence Against Them’

Many people view denied insurance claims as an “act of violence against them,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said, discussing the murder of Brian Thompson, who was CEO of UnitedHealthcare, although she said, “This is not to say that an act of violence is justified,” referencing the murder.

You sure you want me to start posting data and video on this? If you do then you remember you asked for it.

You will need to post a lot of examples to document your claim that "cops do this all the time."
I demand it.

I just saw on X he wasn't even a client of UHC.  He just wanted to murder a CEO of an insurance company.  Any company.
I heard that on the news. So not much of a motive, after all. Sorry, Sen Warren.

I really think he is one of the first of many that are stealthily part of Antifa, and are acting on their crazed ideology.
