A Million Global Migrants Currently Bottlenecked in Mexico, Expert Warns
: Auden Cabello
Roughly 1 million migrants from across the globe are currently making their way to the United States, according to an expert with sources throughout Mexico.
Auden Cabello, a Texas-based immigration reporter who lived in Mexico for many years, believes many hundreds of thousands of migrants are bottlenecked between Guatemala and the U.S., most of whom are determined to continue traveling north.
“I’ve looked at the numbers from IOM (UN International Organization for Migration) and different statistics from Mexican immigration, and I’ve estimated that there are approximately a million migrants just in Mexico alone. Tapachula is still receiving up to a thousand daily,” Cabello told Border Hawk.
“I think it’s just a matter of time before they decide they’re running out of time and say, ‘You know what? We can’t wait on CBP One. We’ve gotta rush the border and cross before Trump gets in.’”
