Sen Cotton fires off harsh letter to Sec. Austin over Pentagon plot to disobey Trump orders
November 27, 2024 | Vivek Saxena

Sen. Tom Cotton has written a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin raising concerns about efforts to stymie President-elect Donald Trump.

Earlier this month CNN revealed that Pentagon officials were “holding informal discussions” on how to essentially push back against any of Trump’s orders that they dislike.

“We are all preparing and planning for the worst-case scenario, but the reality is that we don’t know how this is going to play out yet,” one defense official told the network.

“Troops are compelled by law to disobey unlawful orders,” another defense official said. “But the question is what happens then – do we see resignations from senior military leaders? Or would they view that as abandoning their people?”

Cleaning out the anti-American bureaucrats is going to be tough, but it needs to be done. We could start by eliminating half the generals and their staffs.
We have a beach head. Now it's time to win the war and save the Republic.

Disobey orders?

I like it!!!!!.

Just think of how much money the government will save if we can Court Martial these Generals , and strip them of their pension and benefits.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Their people? They aren't your people. Quit thinking you have authority that you aren't given. You're there to do a job. Do your job.
The Republic is lost.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
It was the Biden Administration that rewrote the directive, just weeks before the election to allow the use of troops to work with civilian Law Enforcement, using lethal force if necessary, in domestic operations.

I think they did that so Joe could call in F-15s if there were riots in the event the Dems stole the election (or otherwise won).

Now, that same DOD that would have put troops on Main Street is talking mutiny if Trump used them in operations against the likes of MS-13 and the Venezuelans.

Tier 1 operators would make short work of the most violent of the foreign illegals, and while some of the SWAT types out there are very capable, and may even be former operators, the military are better equipped and trained to run such operations, Posse Comitatus aside (which is what the directive did, although now the voices of the left deny that).

Typically, the Dems want to bend, beak,or alter the rules when it comes to achieving their goals, but when the same rules are used against their pet (illegal) projects, they want to back out and change the rules back.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
