During a heated debate about DEI policy in the United States, Rep. Jasmine Crockett shouted about history and claimed that White men have never been oppressed in the United States, arguing none of them were ever forced to come to the country.

Wasn't the US State of Georgia founded by the British as a prison colony?  Those white prisoners did not choose to come to this country.

The Irish had it far worse than slaves. Slaves had commercial value while the Irish had none.

Not founded to be a penal colony, but it was used for that purpose, for insolvent debtors and for transported criminals. Not long after the American Revolution, the British started sending transported criminals to Botany Bay, now Sydney, New South Wales.

So, how many blacks involuntarily present in the US returned to Africa when slavery was ended in 1865? How many generations have lived and died since then, who stayed in the US?

I have no trouble saying that slavery as practiced in the US was wrong, but I feel zero guilt over it. I have no trouble saying that Jim Crow laws were wrong, but I feel zero guilt over it. Further, I received zero legacy "benefit" from either, and by now, the passage of several generations means, IMO, that no "white" person in the US was benefited by slavery.

This crockett woman -- I'm going to GUESS that she was elected from one of those "black majority districts" that were gerrymandered into place.

Having said that...
Has there ever been ONE black elected from one of these districts who has ever been worth the seat they keep warm in the House?

They seem all-but guaranteed to produce examples such as this gal.
