The woke Left’s takeover of the US military is a real and present danger

Decorated combat veteran Pete Hegseth’s assertion that warfighting should be the “only litmus test” for America’s armed forces cuts through the noise of political debate to compel a nation to confront the ideological drift within its military institutions.
Hegseth’s warning – “You’ve got to get DEI [diversity, equity and inclusion] and CRT [critical race theory] out of military academies so you’re not training young officers to be baptised in this type of thinking” – rings as both a critique and a call to action.
Whether Hegseth is ultimately the right choice for Secretary of Defense is a question for the Senate. Regardless, he raises a question too urgent to dismiss: Is the military being transformed into an institution that prioritises ideological conformity – with a focus on identity politics – over battlefield readiness?
Anyone who suggests that DEI in the ranks is an imaginary problem need only look at real-life examples under the Biden administration.
