Durbin unloads on Trump’s ‘unqualified loyalist’ FBI director pick of Patel

.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), the second-ranking Democrat as majority whip and chairman of the Judiciary Committee, unleashed on President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to head the FBI.

The nomination of Kash Patel was a controversial one that could face confirmation headwinds, even in the soon-to-be Republican-controlled Senate.

Durbin slammed the choice of Patel, who’s vowed to dismantle the “deep state.”

“We already have a FBI Director, Christopher Wray, and his term does not expire until 2027,” Durbin said in a statement. “President-elect Trump knows this, because he nominated Director Wray in 2017 after he fired the previous director, James Comey, another lifelong Republican who failed Trump’s loyalty test.”

“We already have a FBI Director, Christopher Wray, and his term does not expire until 2027”

Notwithstanding the "term," it's my understanding the president can replace the FBI director whenever he wants.

The Dems are acting like Wray is a Supreme Court justice or something. It's okay, fellas, he can leave.

Dr. Parik Patel, BA, CFA, ACCA Esq.
@ParikPatelCFA
If the senate chooses to reject my son I will call every Patel in America to go on strike until the senate gives in

OMG!  Better do what he says!

That one sentence right there says it all.  Thankfully, the President gets to pick who runs the FBI and not some random corrupt legislator from Illinois.

They seem to forget that Comey was fired by Trump in 2017.
