Pentagon officials are holding informal discussions about how the Department of Defense would respond if Donald Trump issues orders to deploy active-duty troops domestically and fire large swaths of apolitical staffers, defense officials told CNN.

Trump has suggested he would be open to using active-duty forces for domestic law enforcement and mass deportations and has indicated he wants to stack the federal government with loyalists and “clean out corrupt actors” in the US national security establishment.

Trump in his last term had a fraught relationship with much of his senior military leadership, including now-retired Gen. Mark Milley who took steps to limit Trump’s ability to use nuclear weapons while he was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The president-elect, meanwhile, has repeatedly called US military generals “woke,” “weak” and “ineffective leaders.”

Officials are now gaming out various scenarios as they prepare for an overhaul of the Pentagon.

“We are all preparing and planning for the worst-case scenario, but the reality is that we don’t know how this is going to play out yet,” one defense official said.

Trump’s election has also raised questions inside the Pentagon about what would happen if the president issued an unlawful order, particularly if his political appointees inside the department don’t push back.

“Troops are compelled by law to disobey unlawful orders,” said another defense official. “But the question is what happens then – do we see resignations from senior military leaders? Or would they view that as abandoning their people?”

Excuse me?  How to respond when their commander-in-chief gives them an order?  How does a private respond when a sergeant gives an order that the private deems "controversial"?

Is the president no longer CnC of the military? When did that happen?

I was under the impression that in the military, you didn't have to like your commander or your orders. You just did as told.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Look, they changed the directive so they could use the military against American Citizens (lethal force authorized) in case the steal worked and they had to deal with a real insurrection.

But they don't want to use the armed forces in conjunction with law enforcement to root out Venezuelan Gangs and other potentially violent illegals who invaded our country? Why have a military if not ...to provide for the common defense? They should have been at the border for the last 4 years.

Pentagon Brass Held Secret Meetings About How to Countermand Trump's Orders
Matt Vespa

John Frankenheimer directed a movie called Seven Days in May in the 1960s, starring Kirk Douglas as a military officer who uncovers a coup against the president of the United States by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who signed a deeply unpopular nuclear disarmament treaty. That’s a movie. In 2024, the Pentagon brass plotted to countermand President-elect Donald J. Trump’s orders. If we’re going by the Left’s rules here, this is an insurrection. It’s a military coup. What’s worse is that these anti-Trump meetings were held in secret and then got leaked to the media (via CNN):

Pentagon officials are holding informal discussions about how the Department of Defense would respond if Donald Trump issues orders to deploy active-duty troops domestically and fire large swaths of apolitical staffers, defense officials told CNN.

Trump has suggested he would be open to using active-duty forces for domestic law enforcement and mass deportations and has indicated he wants to stack the federal government with loyalists and “clean out corrupt actors” in the US national security establishment.

    […]

“We are all preparing and planning for the worst-case scenario, but the reality is that we don’t know how this is going to play out yet,” one defense official said.

Trump’s election has also raised questions inside the Pentagon about what would happen if the president issued an unlawful order, particularly if his political appointees inside the department don’t push back.

“Troops are compelled by law to disobey unlawful orders,” said another defense official. “But the question is what happens then – do we see resignations from senior military leaders? Or would they view that as abandoning their people?”

CNN’s Scott Jennings tore apart these unelected bureaucrats yesterday. We’re back to the same Deep State games, but this time, Trump, with no re-election ahead of him, can go hard and fast to rid the Pentagon and any agency of troublesome government workers who think they’re above the law and not accountable to the will of the people. The illegal orders narrative is also ridiculous, soaked in the anti-Trump hysterics that have engulfed the Left.

Pentagon officials anxious Trump may fire the military’s top general
The president-elect has railed against “woke” generals and others who have pushed for diversity initiatives in the ranks.

Defense officials are getting anxious about the possibility of the incoming Trump administration firing Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. C.Q. Brown, due to perceptions that he is out of step with the president-elect on the Pentagon’s diversity and inclusion programs.

The Trump administration’s DOD transition team — led by former Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie — has yet to officially set foot in the Pentagon since the election was called, owing to the transition team’s refusal so far to accept assistance from the federal government. But concern is beginning to bubble up that Brown, who spoke publicly about the challenges of rising through the military as a Black man as Donald Trump urged the Defense Department to crack down on the George Floyd protests in 2020, could be swept out by a president-elect who has promised to make the Pentagon less “woke.” ...

“He’s a DEI/woke champion,” a second DOD official said. “Can imagine he’ll be gone quite quickly.”

Two people close to the Trump transition team mentioned that Brown has long been a target of congressional Republicans who accused the Pentagon of conducting social experiments with diversity programs, to the detriment of traditional military tasks. ...
Sounds good to me.

As we could with the rest of the federal bureaucracy, I'm guessing we could get by just fine if the military had a lot fewer woke people in charge.

One of the first directives issued to the military by Mr. Trump should be:

All DEI positions are terminated. Immediately. Those occupying such positions will be re-evaluated and offered new assignments, or will be discharged.

All those personnel who are "trans" or openly [declared] homosexual will get these choices:
1. voluntarily resign and be mustered out, and receive a general discharge
or
2. those who refuse option 1 will be removed from service with a discharge that is "less than" a general discharge.

If Mr. Trump has to remove 25-30% of all serving military, well, he has to do what he has to do.

It will be far easier to recruit and rebuild into a "non-woke, traditional" military than it is to attract young white men into the woke one that exists today.

Precisely. Watch the Senate, too, because Mitch is trying to orchestrate more friction via the Senate Majority Leader position (Coryn and Thune are  establishment RINOs, and it will be a replay of 2017-18, effectively slow walking or stonewalling the Trump agenda until the House majority is lost in the midterms.) The lack of getting things done will ensure that loss.

Obama purged 4,500 senior military officers.  I would say anyone that had anything to do with woke, DEI, CRT, all must go.  Everyone that was involved with the HR side of the military is handed their walking papers.

I would fire all the joint chiefs of staff.  Fire all with 3 and 4 stars.  Purge the military of anyone registered Democrat.  Anyone Democrat must be considered a potential enemy of the state.  The Democrat Party has gone full blown communist, and that is the only way to look at it.

As long as they insist on having Bernie Sanders be the key on their side for finance in the Senate, the Dems cannot be trusted.  PERIOD!!!

TREASON: Pentagon Held Secret Meetings To Plot How They Can Disobey Direct Orders From President Trump
By Pamela Geller - on November 10, 2024

CNN reported that unelected officials at the Pentagon are already holding secret meetings on what to do if Donald Trump issues orders they don’t agree with.

Some of those orders include using active military to assign in carrying out mass deportations and “fire corrupt actors” currently in the US government.

Sounds like a coup. Purge them all.

Trump had better have armed guards with weapons drawn outside everywhere he is, which should include the Pentagon, Congress, Supreme Court, military installations, the oval office, Air Force One, etc.  The guards would be extremely well vetted with orders to shoot anyone, including politicians, police, and each other if they make an unwarranted move toward Trump.  Democrats have been cruising for a police state for almost 4 years which they thought they would control, so give it to them, especially democrats.:MiniGun:

You must be from France.  Sorry to say, but the guillotine was never a method of capital punishment in the USA, and never will be.

Heck, we have an illegal invading alien on trial for the brutal murder, and I believe rape of a student in Georgia.  The worst he will face in a state that has the death penalty is life in prison.  Pathetic!!!!

In a nation of 350 million sprinting its way to 400 million and beyond, we are overly concerned about the wellbeing of the most heinous criminals when we should be establishing policies to purge these people from society, to do it justly, and more importantly, SWIFTLY AND PUBLICLY.  Yes, you read that right.

Jack Welch, former General Electric CEO, routinely purged the bottom 10% of his management team each year.  He demanded excellence within his organization.  Well, I think it is time we purge the most violent, and the worst criminals from our society.

1.  Once one is found guilty of a violent crime, 1.e. 1st degree murder, it should be mandatory that the punishment be capital punishment.  And further, that individual has one year to win an appeal, after which, if they lose the appeal in year one, day 366 they are executed publicly at dawn.  Capital punishment is not a deterrent the tea and crumpets way we do it, with a handful of witnesses.  Make it PUBLIC, so all can see.  And done swiftly after the criminal has been convicted, and I think one year is plenty to mount an appeal.  Presently, the average person on death row is there for well over 20 years.  No deterrent in that process.  NONE!!!

And the numbers should be significant each year, somewhere north of 10,000.

And we need to expand the crimes that result in a capital punishment sentence.  Starting with the following:

Theft of $100,000 or more.  That end the Michael Milkins, Ivan Boeskys, and Bernie Madoffs of the world.  All three under my new punishment schedule would die on day 366, or sooner!!!

HUGE FOR ME:  Anyone stealing a person's property by title theft, regardless of the amount, upon being found guilty will receive an automatic death penalty.  No decision to be made, it will be an automatic sentence with the determination of a guilty outcome.  Nothing irks me more than seeing that highly accomplished criminal that stole $67 million in people's property(homes) in ads for Home Title Lock.

I would wager the FBI has more resources chasing people stealing a couple thousand dollars from banks than they do chasing those stealing property as a result of title theft.  And our WORTHLESS DO NOTHING Congress has done nothing to bring that nonsense to an end.  NOTHING!!!

And it is time to step it up for illegal invading alien criminals.  If an illegal invading alien is caught committing a violent crime, then the only sentence will be the death penalty upon being found guilty.  Same rule applies, one year for appeals, day  366 if not before, if no won appeal, they are executed publicly.

And let's end this nonsense about being concerned about not hurting them.

And further, any gang member that is a member of a gang requiring one commit murder to be a member, should automatically be considered guilty of murder in the 1st degree, and executed at sunrise the next day after being found guilty of any violent crime.  No appeal process is available to them, i.e. MS-13 members.

I am just tired of the extreme concern about criminals and little to no concern for the citizens and victims of the crime these worthless maggots commit.

Fixing any national election should also carry the punishment of death.  And there would be hundreds executed for 2020 if justice existed in the USA, which it does not.  Evidence of that is the offensive trial of the marine that subdued the nut on the subway in New York.  This is a man that should be applauded for his heroism, and instead, he is being destroyed by a corrupt justice system in New York.

The killing of any law enforcement officer should result in only one outcome if found guilty, capital punishment.  Again, justice does not exist if we kill those that protect us, and the criminal get to live off the taxpayers for any length of time beyond 366 days.  PERIOD!!!

Mass murderers, that is anyone killing more than one person can only receive capital punishment when found guilty.  I don't care how old they are.  If they can hold the weapon, pull the trigger repeatedly killing multiple people, it is 1st degree genocide, and only the death penalty will suffice.  Same 366 days, or less, and off they go.
