Governor's Dinner 2026

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

These high-waisted slacks showcase an embroidered floral pattern and are designed to end right at her ankles. The trousers retail for $2,395 at Neiman Marcus.

She paired them with a silver belt, silver stilettos, and striking silver earrings.

Melania's pants appear to be Metallic Floral Puff Brocade Slim-Leg Ankle Pants by Dolce and Gabbana--

The Black Tie Governor's Dinner at the WH:

I love the look; unusual for a governor's dinner, but very classy.

Melania's look is great for a WH barbeque.  But, a pair of slacks is not appropriate, nevermind "classy", for a black tie dinner, especially one you're co-hosting ...  Even the violinist knew how to dress:

Guests, too, understood that this ⬇️ is appropriate attire for a WH-hosted black tie candle lit dinner:

Melania has always set her own style; what she wore was appropriate.  I know you're not a fan of hers, but nonetheless I think she looked beautiful and classy as usual.

I think Melania is just setting her own style. Who knows she might start a new trend.

Melania's slacks were not appropriate for a black tie event, and if it's not appropriate @libertybele then it's disrespectful -- not classy.

I know you're one of Melania's biggest fans, but nonetheless, there are protocols she is expected to follow.  After her breaches of edíquette --- at the inauguration, in Britain, the State Dinner for MBS, New Year's Eve and the Governor's Dinner, it's becoming apparent Melania needs a refresher visit from the Office of the Chief of Protocol.

I disagree her metallic Dolce & Gabbana trousers were very elegant looking and like it or not, she has set her own style as FLOTUS (round #2) and still looks like a model.  She continues to exude beauty and grace, appropriately dressing for any occasion and has never looked disheveled or frumpy. @Right_in_Virginia

I looked at couple of sites that addressed appropriate attire for black tie events. Neither addressed wearing pants pro or con.

She still looks very chic and fashionable, imo.

I'm frankly mesmerized at a leather wrapped thigh gap on a 55yr old.  :bolt:

The cornerstone of "classy" is respect for the event, guests and protocols @libertybele  ---- not the shock value of cleavage, "eff me pumps", hair weaves, and pairing all three with aluminum foil or a hefty bag.     88devil

Your assessment/opinion of her style is a bit ridiculous and bordering as an insult to our FLOTUS...so be it.

I love her looks, style, beauty, poise, and grace and she makes a wonderful FLOTUS. She brings dignity to her position.

No worries @Right_in_Virginia you'll be rid of her in a couple of years.  happy77
