And I do not think there is any conservative on this site that would not welcome a smaller, less intrusive federal government.

I for one had long tired of Trump.  He betrayed me by increasing the H1-b Visa Program versus eliminating it DAY ONE as he promised with his 1st term.  That is 1.6 million Americans displaced from their jobs to give high paid white collar jobs largely to Asian Indians for a fraction of the salary and no benefits in direct violation of federal law.  But these pukes running our country do not care about laws, clearly.

Trump promised a couple months ago to tech billionaires from Silicon Valley to increase the H1-b Visa Program further, so there will be tens if not hundreds of thousands of Americans displaced from their jobs, courtesy Donald Trump, beyond current abusive numbers.

Trump will do things to benefit Americans over the next four years, but he will also do things to destroy the lives of Americans.  I voted for him for a 3rd time, because while he is not perfect, has in fact hurt me and my family with the H1-b Visa nonsense, Harris, would be light years worse in every facet of life. 

People come and go.  Nothing stays stationary for long. 

I anticipate the next four years being great for the stock market.  Trump's success will depend if he gets any support from Congress.  As long as RINOs run the Senate, I do not have high hopes of much of anything happening legislatively.  Trump will have no choice but to resort to EOs to get anything done, just like last time.

Anyone here thinks Cronyn or Thune will work with Trump, they are gravely mistaken.  They will do everything they can to stand in his way.  That is why I would rather see Tom Cotton, or Josh Hawley as the leader in the Senate.  I have had my fill of RINOs.

As you know @LMAO Trump wasn't my first choice and I was sorely disappointed that he opted to smear DeSantis.  However it was an easy selection for me between Trump and Harris.

My vote tally was for Trump 300+ and I was correct.

I'm not comfortable with some of his selections so far.  At any rate, I hope to see you around from time to time.

My simple calculus was this: Under the Harris proposal to eliminate hydraulic fracturing, the domestic oil industry (at least the upstream end) would likely collapse. The current prolific horizontal wells would not be so if no ability to enhance permeability pathways through tight reservoirs existed. Fraccing is that.

If you think things are bad now, that would increase the misery by an order of magnitude, and possibly more as our inflated dollars were used to buy oil from elsewhere, and if the USD lost reserve currency status, there would be hell to pay, just not in dollars.

All issues considered, we could not continue down the path Biden and Harris had started out on, nor could we afford for that to be intensified.

With Trump, there is hope that he will get it right, with the right people, and set the country back on the rails. With Harris, there was no hope.

That choice wasn't hard at all.

You were absolutely correct! When I saw your prediction, although I loved your optimism, I thought no way.

Since I really thought that this would be the count that would never end, I didn't watch the early election coverage. I did tune in right before I went to bed just to see what was going on. When I saw Trump's EC count was 267 I had such an adrenaline surge I was up all night.
