...and this is okay?

Eternity is a very long time.

Joe Rogan advised Trump to let ‘Kill Tony’ comedian write ‘bangers’ for campaign months ago
October 29, 2024 | Sierra Marlee

Podcaster Joe Rogan had previously suggested the GOP presidential candidate form a working relationship with comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.

Prior to his interview with former President Donald Trump, Rogan kicked around the idea of the campaign hiring insult comics to write “bangers for Trump to s**t on people.”

Watch:

“It would behoove him to hire a few great comics to just tour with him, and just write one-liners about all these different fu**in’ people. If he could remember them. I know he likes to go off his own head, but if he could remember a few Hinchcliffe bangers. If he hires Hinchcliffe to take him on the road! You know how f**king insane that would be? Hinchcliffe writing bangers for Trump to s**t on people,” Rogan said in comments made last summer.

Following the podcaster sitting down with Trump, Hinchcliffe appeared at the former president’s Madison Square Garden where he joked that Puerto Rico is a “floating island of garbage” and said Latinos “love making babies.” Naturally, he’s coming under fire from the left which is desperate to deflect attention from Vice President Kamala Harris’s ailing campaign.

Joe Rogan advised Trump to let ‘Kill Tony’ comedian write ‘bangers’ for campaign months ago
October 29, 2024 | Sierra Marlee

Rogan has gone on record many times that he wants to turn his new adopted home (Austin TX) into a Comedy Mecca for the country.  He's on his way to accomplish it.   Not that I don't trust the Libertarian Rogan, but he is shrewd as hell, and wouldn't have any problem doing a little collateral damage to further those goals.

What you saw from Hinchcliffe Sunday, was actually mild versus some of the jaw dropping shockers that gets aired on KT show.  The show's premise is that 100's of inspiring new comics are added into a bucket, and picked randomly for a one minute bit.  That by itself sets ups the hysterics.  I posted an example yesterday on the Members Only section, giving an example of how it really goes over the line.  And these antics are pretty common at that venue.

When this thread was first added, and I saw the Tony on roster, I immediately went.   Rut roh......   How is this going to play out?  Trump has great comedic timing, and there were others like Gutfeld (mentioned above) or Sean Gillis, who I think could have kept the PC train at least on the tracks.  But we really don't know what all of the terms were around Trump getting his interview on Rogan.  I still think this was a favor to give Rogan some visibility to promote his Comedy Complex in Austin,

But again, watch any old Rickles bit, or one of the old Dean Martin roasts, and you'll see that what Hincliffe covered would have been par for the course say in 1968.  I still think that this was a gaffe, but not as bad as the left MSM is making it out to be.   There are still plenty of people out there who love laughing at themselves.  The Cancel Culture pukes feign faux outrage for their own political gain.

Hopefully the Trump campaign can contain this flareup about the “comic.”  This is like fumbling on the five-yard line after a stellar sure-TD, 50-yard run in the last two minutes of a game.  Maybe the damage will be limited, but why in the hell did the campaign not pre-approve this guy’s material?  There’s absolutely no room for error - especially of the unforced type - at this stage.

Hinchcliffe is an improv standup comic.  I'd bet $100 that the bit was vetted, but he went rogue.  One thing is for sure.....   Tony Hinchcliffe is 3X more famous than he was 4 days ago.   Is that the motive?    :pondering:

Well, if that was Hinchcliffe’s intention, that mission is certainly accomplished.  Meanwhile, the Trump campaign has to contain what may end up being the the 2024 version of VA Sen. George Allen’s 2006 “macaca” moment.

Rogan has said many unflattering things about Trump in the past few years.  I am more optimistic though.  We fly through news cycles so quickly now, that is why I think the election at face value is more about winning the most news cycles.

Example?  Trump's fist pumping after being shot is almost a distant memory now.  Our nation has terminal ADD, and are low info voters.
There's a reason half the country has an IQ of less than a 100.

It's obvious to anyone that Thinks critically, Trump, in passing or Obligation for the Rogan interview agreed to this.
Lara had to sign off on it.

I'd like to take a moment and interrupt the ongoing discussion as the liberals and media direct.  Steve Bannon, political prisoner, was released this morning --- at 3:15 am without media coverage ---- as this is among the last things the overlords want discussed a week from the election.

I now return you to your ongoing discussion.

PS:  if interested in updates on Trump's speech yesterday at the Faith Summit in Powder Springs,, GA,  his rally in Atlanta, or today's press conference from FL, roundtable in Drexel HILL, PA and rally in Allentown, PA ---- let me know.  Thx.

Trump says he didn’t hear New York rally comedian, doesn’t know him

by Caroline Vakil - 10/29/24 11:15 AM ET

Former President Trump says he does not know the controversial comedian who performed at his Madison Square Garden rally Sunday and didn’t hear him speak — his most extensive public comments yet on the controversy surrounding Tony Hinchcliffe’s remarks about Puerto Rico.

“I don’t know him; someone put him up there. I don’t know who he is,” Trump told ABC News’s Rachel Scott in an interview published Tuesday.

Hinchcliffe was featured at Trump’s Sunday rally in New York City, sparking backlash for describing Puerto Rico as “a floating island of garbage.” He also made a crude joke about Latinos, babies and immigration.

Trump told the network he hadn’t listened to Hinchcliffe’s remarks, and reiterated that sentiment when Scott asked what his thoughts were about them.
