Ukrainian Intelligence Successfully Eliminates Notorious Russian Major

On October 18, 2024, around 11:40 AM, an explosion occurred in the center of temporarily occupied Luhansk, resulting in the destruction of a vehicle belonging to the Russian forces. The vehicle, identified as a UAZ Patriot, was carrying Major Dmitry Pervukha of the Russian Armed Forces at the time of the incident.

According to HUR  The explosion has been confirmed to have killed Pervukha, who held a position as the so-called “Chief of Staff for Military and Security Services” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This major served under the 273rd Reconnaissance Center of the Russian Armed Forces, with a permanent stationing point located in Novosibirsk.

The Chief Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine HUR emphasized that this incident reflects ongoing accountability for war crimes committed against Ukraine. The HUR reiterated that every crime in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine “met with just retribution.”

The rapid 15km drive on an evacuation mission to the village of Hirnyk in eastern Ukraine had barely begun when a frantic call for help crackled through Vasyl Pipa’s radio.

He swiftly reversed to where the other van on the mission had suddenly stopped in a cloud of smoke, and volunteer Danylo Zakharchenko was already dragging his unconscious colleague, Tigran Galustyan, out from behind the steering wheel and shattered windscreen.

A Russian drone had blasted through the roof of the armoured van above Galustyan’s head. He was quickly loaded into Pipa’s vehicle and rushed to the nearest emergency medical point, but he could not be saved. Galustyan (37), who had taken part in hundreds of evacuation missions, left behind a young daughter.

He fell victim to the kind of drone attack that has transformed the battlefield in eastern Ukraine – and perhaps modern warfare itself – and is now terrorising the tens of thousands of civilians who still live in cities and villages near the front line, as well as emergency workers and volunteers who try to help them.  .  .

1,500 North Korean Special Forces Arrive in Russia Undercover on Russian Frigates, Says South Korea

South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) stated that North Korea already deployed 1,500 special forces troops to support Russia in its war against Ukraine, South Korean outlet Yonhap reported on October 18.

These soldiers have reportedly arrived in Russia. It marks the first large-scale deployment of North Korean ground troops.

According to the South Korean intelligence agency, they “detected the transport of North Korean special forces to Russian territory using Russian naval transport ships,” confirming the start of North Korea’s military involvement.

South Korean intelligence reported that the 1,500 North Korean soldiers were transported to Russian Vladivostok from areas around Chongjin, Hamhung, and Musudan, utilizing 4 Russian landing ships and 3 frigates. A second transport operation is expected soon.

“North Korea is expected to send approximately 12,000 troops to the war in Ukraine, including four brigades of elite special operations forces, the 11th Army Group, and the so-called 'Storm Corps',” a source from South Korean intelligence said.

The North Korean forces are currently stationed at Russian military bases in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk.   .  .

On May 14, 2024, Russian president Vladimir Putin appointed economist, and former secret service (FSB) head, Andrei Belousov as Russia's new defense minister replacing long-serving Sergei Shoigu (aged 69). He also sacked three deputy defence ministers Nikolai Pankov (69), Ruslan Tsalikov (68), and Pavel Popov (67). All three had military backgrounds.

As replacements Putin appointed Leonid Gornin (65), previously first deputy finance minister, and Anna Tsivileva (52), the daughter of his late cousin, as a deputy defence minister. Her husband Sergei Tsivilev is Russia's energy minister. Also named as deputy defence ministers were Oleg Savelyev (58) and Pavel Fradkov (43) – mainly lawyers and economists.

On September 27, these officials and others, submitted a bill on the federal budget for 2025 to 2027 to the State Duma. The budget calls for 13.5 trillion rubles ($U.S. 145 billion) to go towards National Defense expenditures in 2025 and projects that defense spending will decrease to 12.8 trillion rubles ($U.S. 137 billion) in 2026 but increase to 13 trillion rubles ($U.S. 139 billion) in 2027.

A few days later, on September 30, Putin signed a degree updating the membership of the Security Council of Russia – a key Russian consultative body that informs the President's decisions on national security issues. Putin added former FSB bodyguard Alexei Dyumin (aged 52), management economist Denis Manturov (55), neurologist Veronika Skvortsova (63), and Head of the Kremlin's Main Directorate for Special Programs (GUSP) Alexander Linets (61) to the Russian Security Council. None have military expertise.

The body of another Russian tycoon has been found. A Russian foreign spy service worker found the body of 64-year-old Mikhail Rogachev in the latter's tenth-floor flat courtyard while walking his boss' pet dog. According to local reports, Rogachev fell from 100 ft from his window and died. Several Moscow media outlets claimed that Rogachev was suffering from a "severe form of cancer." But these claims were denied by his close relatives.

His relatives said that he was in a happy mood and showed no signs of suicide before his death. Rogachev also "had breakfast with his relatives, was in a normal mood, and then his body was found under the windows of his house," as reported by VCHK-OGPU. Other reports have stated that some sheets of a possible suicide letter was also discovered in his bathroom.

The sniffer dogs at Chisinau Airport have been working extra hard in recent months, searching for money that might be evidence of Russian meddling in Moldovan politics.

Ami, a black retriever, gives every suitcase that rolls in on the baggage claim belts a good sniff on all sides. If she detects cash, she will freeze. Back in May she was doing that a lot.

That is when customs officers began finding large amounts of money on passengers arriving via connecting flights from Moscow. People who had never left Moldova before were returning from a few days in Russia with wads of notes.

“Almost everyone had money: 2,000, 3,000, 7,000 euros”, the head of customs at Chisinau Airport, Ruslan Alexandrov, remembers. The amounts themselves were not illegal but the patterns were suspicious.

“There were certain flights: Moscow-Istanbul-Chisinau, Moscow-Yerevan-Chisinau,” the customs chief explains. “Normally people don’t come in with that much money. Not from Moscow.”

So police and prosecutors began seizing the cash. In one day alone they say they scooped $1.5m (£1.2m). No-one ever asked for their money back.

The authorities believe the cash mules were part of a major and ongoing operation to buy political influence run by a fugitive Moldovan oligarch named Ilan Shor. Convicted of major fraud in Chisinau, he is now resident in Russia which will not extradite him.  .  .  .
