For the x.com challenged, here's the list:

▪️ On January 4, drones flew more than 900 kilometers and successfully hit the largest seaport in Russia, Ust-Luga, in Russia's Leningrad region.

▪️ On January 8, drones flew about 1,000 kilometers and hit an oil depot in Engels that provides fuel for a military airfield.

▪️ On January 10, fires broke out in Russia's Rostov region due to "drone debris".

▪️ On January 11, Russian-occupied Crimea and a number of Russian cities were under attack. There was a fire in the port area in Novorossiysk, which is 500 kilometers from the border.

▪️ On January 14, drones attacked an oil depot in Engels, the Orgsintez plant in Kazan, the Saratov oil refinery and the Bryansk chemical plant.

▪️ On January 15, an oil depot started burning in Russia's Voronezh region, about 200 km from the Ukrainian border.

▪️ On January 16, having flown more than 400 km, drones reached the Tambov gunpowder plant.

▪️ On January 17, drones again attacked the oil depot in Engels, where Russians had just managed to put out a six-day fire. It was the third attack in two weeks.

▪️ On January 18, drones attacked oil depots in Russia's Tula and Kaluga regions.

▪️ On January 20, facilities of an aircraft plant in Kazan (1000 km from the border) came under drone attack. Drones also paid a visit to a familiar oil depot in Russia's Voronezh region.

▪️ On January 21, drones hit military industry facilities in the Russian city of Smolensk, 300 km from the border.

The video shows an FPV drone flying into the building through a broken out window.

A very large explosion for an FPV drone. Perhaps a secondary?

Video taken by an ISR drone.

Anti Aircraft Artillery (AAA) is probably the most effective weapon against the shahed drones.

I would think they'd use older planes, fire rockets at a distance like they do, and then scoot. Like they've been doing.

The 2 munitions with the greatest standoff range are the AASM Hammer and the JDAM-ER.

The AASM Hammer, pictured below, is rocket assisted with a standoff range of 43 miles.

The JDAM-ER, pictured below, is a glide bomb with a standoff range of 40 miles.

Ukraine probably had Electronic Intel (ELINT) that there were no active SAM sites in the Bryansk area.

The attack was probably flown by MiG-29s.

It is staggering what you can get done once you remove Joe Biden from the equation.  It should be clear by now that Biden was a huge impediment towards defeating Russia's occupation.  His RoE policies were designed to drag this war out infinitum, preventing Ukraine from achieving any kind of victory.

New drone technology is also a major factor. If you look at their early drones they were very crude. They've honed them down to deadly killing machines, even for heavily armored targets.

Cracking down on corruption:

Ukraine's chief army psychiatrist arrested on $1m corruption charge

Laura Gozzi  |  9 hours ago

Ukraine has detained its army's chief psychiatrist for alleged "illegal enrichment" charges related to earnings of more than $1m (£813,000) accrued since the start of Russia's invasion in February 2022.

In a statement, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said the man sat on a commission deciding whether individuals were fit for military service.

The SBU statement did not name him - however, a man called Oleh Druz was previously identified as the Ukrainian Armed Forces' chief psychiatrist.

The SBU said he owned three apartments in or near Kyiv, one in Odesa, two plots of land and several BMW luxury cars, and investigators searching his home also found $152,000 (£124,000) and €34,000 in cash.

The statement said the man did not declare the property, which was registered in the name of his wife, daughter, sons, and other third parties.

He now faces ten years in jail for the alleged charges of illegal enrichment and making a false declaration.  .  .

Captured North Korean soldier did not know he was going to war, says Ukraine

Radina Gigova  |  January 21, 2025  |  4:22 pm (Updated 4:36 pm)

A captured North Korean soldier has said he did not know he was being sent to fight in a war in Russia and that Pyongyang’s troops are suffering major losses in battle, according to a video released by Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces captured two North Korean soldiers in Russia’s Kursk region earlier this month, according to Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and they are receiving medical assistance from the security service in Kyiv.

The president released a new video this week showing one of the soldiers being questioned by the Ukrainian military.  .  .  .

Ukrainian troops use drones to intercept Russia’s advances across Oskil River on Kupiansk axis, military says

Yana Sliemzina  -  21 January 2025  |  23:18

UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jan 21 — Combat continues near Dvorichna, where the DeepState war monitoring services indicated the advance of Russian troops on January 20, said Viktor Trekhubov, the spokesman for the “Khortytsia” group of forces.

“Russians are regularly trying to get over the river [to the right bank of the Oskil River — ed.], using small watercraft and trying to accumulate forces enough to conduct assault operations, — Ukrainian troops intercept them with drones and clear the area when they are on [the right bank],” Trekhubov said.

In autumn, the Russian offensive on the Kupiansk axis picked up pace, with Moscow’s troops breaking into once-occupied Kupiansk and Ukraine’s forces fighting them off in November.

Currently, the Russian army has reached the Oskil River near Dvorichna, north of Kupiansk, and Krukliakivka, south of the city, during autumn. General Staff reports 10 combat clashes on the Kupiansk axis, including near Dvorichna, just over the past day.   .   .

How Ukrainian Defenders of Donetsk Airport Set Precedent For Ukraine’s Military Determination Today

Ukrainian forces fiercely defended Donetsk Airport in a long and grueling battle, embodying the nation's uncompromising strength and courage. We revisit the resistance of the Ukrainian Cyborgs—the soldiers of steel—whose unyielding determination set a precedent for Ukraine’s military might in the face of relentless Russian aggression.

Jess Daly & Alexander Query  |  Jan 15, 2025  |  18:10

Tomorrow, January 16, Ukraine honors the Day of Remembrance of Donetsk Airport Defenders. Determined Ukrainian troops held the airport's defenses for a grueling 242 days under intense artillery attacks and relentless gunfire in brutal and unforgiving conditions, earning them the nickname “Cyborgs.”

The Cyborgs have become a lasting symbol of Ukraine's uncompromising resistance, courage, and fortitude.

The battle for Donetsk Airport was fought from May 26, 2014, to January 22, 2015, resulting in far more than the destruction of the airport, but served a much larger role in the war that is seen today.

The Donetsk airport, officially named Sergey Prokofiev International Airport, was built in the 1940s but rebuilt ahead of the Euro 2012 football championships, which Ukraine and Poland co-hosted. It’s located on the northern edge of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine’s biggest city, which has been under Russian occupation since 2014.

Donetsk city is located in the region of Donbas (short for Donetsk coal basin). Donbas has been at the heart of Russia’s war in Ukraine, facing nearly 11 years of civilian suffering and devastation at the hands of the Kremlin’s forces.  .  .  .

.  .  .
What led to the battle of Donetsk airport?
The invasion of the Donbas region came after Ukraine’s fight for freedom during the Maidan Revolution , which began in 2013. The Kremlin-backed president Yanukovych was ousted and fled to Moscow. Continuing Russia’s war tradition, they saw the revolution as a threat to their geopolitical interests, as Ukraine was distancing itself from Russia and growing closer to the West.

In response, under the guise of separatist forces, Moscow invaded and annexed Crimea, and their war in Ukraine began. Emboldened by the mild response from the international community and the West, Russia escalated its aggression into the Donbas and Luhansk regions before ultimately leading to Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.  .  .

New drone technology is also a major factor. If you look at their early drones they were very crude. They've honed them down to deadly killing machines, even for heavily armored targets.

Here's the latest on drone technology from Robert Madyar.
