'I've never seen this': Top Republican details level of Secret Service 'lack of cooperation'
Sen Ron Johnson describes 'heavily redacted' documents provided to lawmakers

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., described the level to which the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service have prevented the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) from obtaining crucial materials to investigate the failures that led to the assassination attempts against former President Trump.

"Things like the autopsy report, you know, the House has it under subpoena. We don't have it," he told reporters.

"[The] toxicology report; we don't have any of the trajectory reports. So, where'd the bullets go? We don't even know how they handled the crime scene," said Johnson, ranking member of the HSGAC Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI).

The senator pointed to the amount of time that has passed since the July 13 assassination attempt against Trump, noting, "There's just basic information we should have right now, and we don't have it."

"We haven't been able to interview the sniper who took out [Thomas] Crooks," Johnson said. Crooks is the would-be assassin that, during the July 13 rally in Pennsylvania, opened fire, grazing the former president's ear, killing a rally attendee and critically injuring two others.

According to the Republican, the sniper who shot Crooks was the first person he wanted to interview.

When Dubya won in 2000, many of us insisted that his first order of business should have been to completely clean house at the Clinton Dept. of State. Of course, he didn't. When Trump won in 2016, many of us insisted he should have completely cleaned house in every Obama department. Unfortunately, he didn't.

In the event Trump is able to overcome the Democrat voter fraud operation in 2024 and is elected, he absolutely, positively needs to gut the entire federal bureaucracy, especially at Homeland Security and DOJ. There's no other way.

In some instances that will require eliminating positions or whole departments.
So be it.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Amen. You are right -- there is no other way and hopefully now perhaps he sees that.

Those of us who ever worked in the private sector are quite aware that the federal government could be cut by at least 25%, and the country would get along just fine.

Kettle calling the pot black ... Secret Service didn't co-operate with January 6th investigation when Trump was President ... may have destroyed evidence ... what goes around comes around

Why should Republicans be the only ones who don't co-operate with Congress?

Sad to say it but I am today more firmly convinced than ever that Trump will never be allowed in the WH again even if it mean civil war. The PTB cannot afford to let it happen.

Ever consider there might be a spectrum of motivations for not cooperating with Congress?

For example,  the FBI and DOJ did not even want to admit they had 'people' in the crowd, then how many were there, nor what they were doing there. They did not cooperate with the J6 tribunal, nor anyone who asked the awkward questions.

Lack of cooperation could be to conceal covert operations, agents provocateur, false flag participants, and a host of other dirty tricks designed to exacerbate a situation so grandmothers who took selfies from between the velvet ropes ("Threats to our DemocracyTM" could be rounded up later, to the acclaim of the people who stole the election.

The evidence destroyed often favors most those who destroy it. In the case of the FBI, USSS, DOJ, etc, they are covering their own asses first.

Once one person is allowed to use a Congressional subpoena as toilet paper, the precedent is set, and others will follow suit.

So, now, more people feel free to ignore Congressional subpoenas.  Going to jail for contempt of Congress is a badge of honor and a middle finger to the institution of Congress.

The CEO of Stewart Hospitals just defied a Congressional subpoena.  Defying Congress, Dem or Republican, is a new normal.

What goes around comes around, Ron.
