Woah, woah, woah!  Safety before profit?

The executives need the Boeing share price to increase so the value of their compensatory stock options remain above water. 

Otherwise, the executives will have to borrow money to buy back Boeing stock, and leave the company a shell of its former self, like GE and IBM executives did to their companies.

Capitalism is about building or accreting new enterprise value.

Finance is about Wall Street monetizing (unlocking, pillaging) existing trapped enterprise value for themselves, you stupid Main Street muppets. - Love, Goldman Sachs
