Trump says 6 weeks is too limited and restrictive for women who become pregnant.

Former President Donald Trump says he’ll vote in favor of Florida’s abortion referendum that will appear on the ballot throughout the state for the Nov. 5 election.

 (snip)

“So you’ll vote in favor of the amendment?” Burns asked.

“I am going to be voting that we need more than six weeks,” Trump replied.

Florida’s ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy went into effect in May.

Trump is pro-abortion and always has been.

And…

Former President Donald Trump said Thursday that he supports having the government or insurance companies cover the costs of in vitro fertilization, or IVF, and indicated that he would vote for a ballot measure in Florida aimed at overturning the state's six-week abortion ban.

"Under the Trump administration, we are going to be paying for that treatment," Trump said in an interview with NBC News. "Or we're going to be mandating that the insurance company pay."

Regardless of  what anybody’s personal beliefs are regarding these issues, this is Donald Trump trying to find some cause, any cause, to save his faltering campaign. Besides the fact that voters are not going to buy this, mandating insurance companies to pay for something will result in higher healthcare premiums. This is one of the biggest criticisms when it came to Obamacare.

We have the two most economically illiterate candidates to ever  run in the history of the country. And both candidates are equal in their love of an ever expanding government

I don’t even think the Harris campaign has even suggested mandating insurance companies to pay for IVF. But we are told we have to vote for Trump because “socialism”

Trump’s ever evolving positions on these issues  is  what happens when you have no core principles. Somehow, he seems to believe  these two positions  will net him the “woman vote” that is horribly eluding him. Not a chance. But he may end up losing some evangelical votes

Who is going to tell either of these two candidates that when the country has to print money just to finance its debt and  the cost of financing  said debt cost more than what it costs the country to defend itself, we don’t have the money for their schemes

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Donald is flailing around in a desperate attempt to regain the support of female voters.  In the process he is dividing the party again.  Did he want the question left to Florida so that abortion could be legalized up to the moment of birth?  Or is he opposed to the 6 week statute only due to his psychotic one-sided feud with Ron DeSantis?

His involvement matters because Amendment 4 needs 60% support in order to pass, and was below this threshold in two recent polls.  The amendment guarantees elective abortions through the stage of viability, as well as an exception for "health" of the mother as defined by a healthcare provider (not even a doctor).  In other words, if a woman wants a late term abortion, she will get one.  Since Trump has signaled his support for the amendment, it likely will pass, and make Florida similar to New York and California.

This is the last time I will allow myself to be angry with Trump.  His enablers are the problem, because they know he has a loose screw, but DO NOT RESPECT THE REST OF US ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH HIM ... even when the topic is something like abortion.

Ballot summary
The proposed ballot summary is as follows:[1]

“   No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider. This amendment does not change the Legislature’s constitutional authority to require notification to a parent or guardian before a minor has an abortion. [14]   ”

******************************

A yes" vote supports adding the following language to the Florida Constitution’s Declaration of Rights: “… no law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.” Amendment 4 would maintain the current constitutional provision that permits a law requiring parents to be notified before a minor can receive an abortion.

A "no" vote opposes amending the Florida Constitution's Declaration of Rights to provide that the state cannot "... prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider."

In other words, Trump is constitutionally incapable of keeping his big fat mouth shut on the one issue Democrats desperately need to be made a campaign issue.  So now on the Sunday talk shows, instead of talking about immigration or inflation or the economy, everyone's going to be talking about Trump voting on abortion.

.  .  .  IN FLORIDA!

This is a STATE ISSUE!.  Why in the hell can't Trump keep his mouth shut about it?

If Trump wants to talk national level, then maybe he can explain not only why his signature is on $2 billion in taxpayer money to be appropriated to Planned Parenthood, but why he allowed the appropriation to be sent.

Care to take a guess at how much of that $2 billion is sitting in Kamala Harris' campaign warchest right now?
