Time for NeverTrump Republicans to Put on their Big Boy Pants

My flak jacket is on as I write this since I am sure to offend or piss off some friends, family, and colleagues who are ostensibly Republicans or conservatives but have a visceral aversion to Donald Trump.

Some tell me they are Republican and miss Ronald Reagan but also admit they “couldn’t” vote for Donald Trump in either 2016 or 2020. Nothing says one is Republican like voting for a liberal Democrat.

This is the NeverTrump wing of the Republican Party, emerging shortly after Trump secured the GOP nomination in 2016. Reasons for NeverTrump-ism are myriad.

Some were offended by his mean tweets, name-calling, and brash Queens personality. Others disliked his confidence and determination to punch back twice as hard when attacked, particularly when the attacks were bogus (Russian collusion, fine people, grab em by the p***y, etc).

Many establishment Republicans only wanted a nominee who was part of George Carlin’s “big club,” with the last name of Bush, or endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce, The Wall Street Journal, or the Koch brothers.

Expect more articles like this as Donald Trump’s campaign gets further into trouble. They’re demanding that others bail them out of their poor choice.

As predictable as the sun rising in the east

It has nothing to do with growing the size of government and adding on another $8 trillion worth of debt while pushing for expansion of the money supply and  attacking the federal reserve for not doing something stupid like going to 0% interest rates and economy harming tariffs, or attacking other Republicans for not showing him proper fealty. But Donald Trump himself wouldn’t pledge to back  the GOP nominee if it wasn’t him

   Trump will take all 40 EV's in Texas.  Perhaps it will be as small of a margin that Cruz overtook beto in 2018 (thank you Trumpers).

If I have a choice between a liberal Republican or a liberal Democrat, I'll choose the liberal Democrat.  I don't vote Republican to elect liberals.

   All of the Candidates I care about, Issac, Roy and Cruz are comfortably ahead in the current polls, so I'm gonna save myself the grief and not vote, again, this year.

Just an idle thought I would like share.

Since I have heard Trump praise the opposition (KimJongYuongin, Newsome,etc) for saying "nice things",  what would happen if the Dems and Kammie started praising him?

It could be a tightrope...but possible. It would be hard for him.

As weird as this political season has been...nothing surprises me.

Honestly @corbe I'm not so sure that Trump will take TX nor FL. The corruption is so deep and wide, that I believe it is going to take a true miracle to turn this ship around.

   I don't see it that way @libertybele TEXAS and FLORIDA are a given to the GOP.  Gov DeSantis and Abbott have made great strides in cleaning up the voter rolls and eliminating that type of fraud. *

How Trump handled the economic impact of his tariffs and COVID is how he would handle any domestic crisis. Print lots of money and send checks out even over the objections of other Republicans


I have no doubt that Harris would do the same thing. Except if Trump does it, it’s in the name of conservatism.

But, there needs to be some pushback against the upcoming Harris regime and her far left tendencies so I will be voting for Republicans down ballot even though Eric Hovde is going to lose against Tammy Baldwin anyways

I'm firmly in the middle when it comes to Trump. I'm under no delusions that he's gonna fix the debt problem. That cake is baked anyway. I'm simply looking at the rest of his policy stances to see if I think he's going to do enough to make it worth not skipping that part of the ballot.

It's his race to win.
