Shockingly, the GP once again screws up/misrepresents a story.  I couldn't figure out how the federal government could force states to fund healthcare costs for illegals, so I started reading.   I followed a bunch of links until eventually, I read the actual complaint filed by the states opposing this.

The states do not have to pay for those costs.  What the states are claiming is that because the states run the actual online exchanges, and the illegals would be able to use those exchanges, there would be a higher administrative burden on the website because more people would be using it.  Nowhere do those states claim they would have to contribute to the cost of the actual healthcare.

Still, I hope they win because us federal taxpayers would be on the hook for those costs otherwise.

Interesting. I read a few days ago that Abbott issued an EO requiring hospitals to track immigration status.

At the time, I assumed he was going to bill the government for reimbursement (fat chance).

That's always been a different issue.  Emergency rooms in public hospitals generally are required to treat everyone who comes through their doors, regardless of ability to pay or immigration status.
