We had a very hot July, about 3 degrees above average. A few days ago, the TV weatherman gave the record high and low temperatures for that particular date, and I was amused to see that they occurred a year apart - in the early 1930s. That means the record high was even hotter than it was last week, and it happened 90 years ago.

But SUVs!!
