(Bloomberg) -- Chevron Corp., based in California since the days of kerosene lamps, is moving headquarters to Texas after years of fighting Golden State officials over strict environmental policies and costly regulations.
he move announced Friday will end the company’s 145 years of being based in the most populous US state. The shift prompted Texas Governor Greg Abbott to welcome Chevron to its “true home,” while a spokesperson for his California counterpart Gavin Newsom dismissed it as a “logical culmination” of a years-long transition by the oil giant.

Chevron already had slashed new investments in California refining, citing “adversarial” government policies in a state that has some of the most stringent environmental rules in the US. In January, refining executive Andy Walz warned that the state was playing a “dangerous game” with climate rules that threatened to spike gasoline prices.

Chickens will soon come home to roost.  Hint to our Californian Briefers.....    Expect not only pricing that might be double the national, average, but it might come to the point you won't be able to find a viable station. Or...  have to drive 50 miles to find one.

Finally.  CVX is a good company.  They've been slowly moving out of California for the last decade.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Most under-reported is factoid in this move is that Greezy Newzome loses that CVX CA corporate tax.....   Which from a quick check was $211M  in 2023.  $482M in 2022.

That will leave a mark....    :silly:
