Poisoning the Blood: Border Patrol Seizes Enough Fentanyl to Kill 250 Million Americans.

The U.S. Border Patrol has reported its largest-ever fentanyl seizure, apprehending an individual who attempted to smuggle over half a ton of the synthetic opioid across the border from Mexico. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed Thursday that four million pills of fentanyl were found concealed in the trailer of a truck driven by a 20-year-old with U.S. citizenship.Officials noticed irregularities in the trailer hauling a recreational vehicle. This led to the discovery of 234 packages of fentanyl hidden within the frame. The lethal dosage of fentanyl is approximately 0.002 grams, indicating that the seized quantity was potent enough to kill 250 million Americans. Since October 2023, CBP has seized more than 738 million doses of fentanyl.
 
According to the CDC, fentanyl overdoses in 2023 resulted in approximately 74,702 American deaths.Last year, former President Donald J. Trump told The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam that the border crisis was “poisoning the blood of our country.”
