FRONTLINES: Border patrol agents told to hide crisis from cameras: report

When Vice President Kamala Harris visited the US-Mexico border for the first time in 2021, federal agents were reportedly instructed to sanitize the area and hide the crisis from the cameras, according to a report by the New York Post.
Appointed as the border czar by President Joe Biden after his administration took office, Vice President Harris visited the border near El Paso on June 25 after facing criticism for not going earlier. Border Patrol agents revealed that they were told to move migrants out of holding facilities and to put on a “show” for the Vice President as she arrived.
“They rented out a ton of hotels and we spent hours moving out bodies. The kids that remained, we had to braid their hair,” one agent explained, adding that they “made jokes about how the building was more secure than the whole border was.”
“She had zero interest in really seeing anything. It was rushed,” a former official added.
