Border Patrol Intercepts Illegals Crossing River Into Michigan

U.S. authorities say they intercepted illegal aliens being smuggled into Michigan via a river on the northern border.


Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a press release this week detailing a smuggling attempt that unfolded last month in waters north of Detroit.

On June 25, U.S. Border Patrol agents observed a suspicious vessel make landfall near Marysville Station after crossing from the Canadian side of the St. Clair River, which connects Lake Huron with Lake St. Clair and serves as the international boundary.

“The vessel dropped off three passengers who then got into a waiting vehicle,” CBP said.

“Collaborative efforts between U.S. and Canadian law enforcement partners resulted in the arrest of the driver of the vessel after he returned to Canada.”
