Failures by the Secret Service to prevent the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump have some Republicans taking matters into their own hands.

Armed with accusations that federal investigators aren’t being transparent, lawmakers have obtained and unveiled new footage and details of security pitfalls that may have enabled a rooftop shooter to strike Trump from only a few hundred feet away.

“The only way for the Secret Service to regain Americans’ trust is to be totally transparent about what went wrong on July 13,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told the Washington Examiner. “Unfortunately, federal agencies seem to be behind the ball.”

Grassley made public nearly 30 minutes of bodycam footage taken by law enforcement in the aftermath of the shooting, including the graphic moments when agents encountered the lifeless body of the would-be assassin, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Parts of the video show Crooks’s body on the roof of the building where a Secret Service counter-sniper shot and killed Crooks in the moments after he opened fire on Trump during a July 13 campaign rally. The videos offered greater details into reports that agents were warned of Crooks as a possible threat prior to him gaining roof access and shooting Trump.

“So, this is the guy that your snipers saw?” a Secret Service agent says on the roof to a Beaver County Emergency Services Unit officer.

“Yes, Beaver County snipers seen him and sent pictures out. This is him,” a Beaver County ESU officer said before the two men compared pictures on their phones.

The lead sharpshooter of the SWAT Team working alongside the U.S. Secret Service during the attempted assassination against former President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the group had “no communication” with the agency until after the shooting.

In an interview with ABC News reporter Aaron Katersky, the local SWAT team from Beaver County, Pennsylvania, appeared on the outlet to discuss security concerns from the day around the assassination attempt against Trump. On the day of the rally, the SWAT group was positioned within the second floor of the building that shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks later used throughout the day to shoot from, with the lead sharp shooter noting that the SWAT team was supposed to receive a “face-to-face briefing” with the Secret Service agents when they had arrived on site; however, it never happened.
 
“We were supposed to get a face-to-face briefing with the Secret Service snipers whenever they arrived, and that never happened. So I think that that was probably a pivotal point where I started thinking things were wrong because that never happened, and we had no communication with the Secret Service,” the lead SWAT sharpshooter said in the interview.

Katersky then pressed the lead sharpshooter of the team on his statement, asking if he had no communication from the Secret Service “at all on that Saturday.” The SWAT leader clarified that there was nothing from the agency “until after the shooting.”

Thomas Matthew Crooks, the gunman at the infamous Donald Trump rally in Butler, PA, on Saturday, July 13, reportedly used the controversial right-wing social media platform Gab to express his “support of President [Joe] Biden.”

Well, when you put it that way...

Still, incompetence and negligence are the masks put on the face of malice.
There is no disguising the rabid malice this administration has professed and acted upon, by proxy and directly, against Donald J Trump.

Fecebook and others cannot remove every post that expresses that malice without stripping the platform down to its skeletal roots. You can only edit so much before there is nothing left.

I’m still sifting through details, but the assassination attempt on Trump becomes more inexplicable as time passes by, not less. Moreover, the media’s lack of curiosity and what appears to be a coordinated effort to minimize or erase the attack from public memory just deepens my suspicions. This is one of the most important events in American history, and I can’t imagine what the country would look like now had the shooter been successful, but the only people who seem at all interested in getting to the bottom of it are institutional outsiders… Very strange, but we’ve seen this before, and that makes my blood run cold.

Dunno about that. Collapsible stocks on Stoner variant rifles go back to the 1960s (Mainly special forces) but were much more common for their adjustability from the '70s on.

The assassination attempt on Trump should be perceived as a conspiracy until proven otherwise.  There have been enough folks who make a living at killing to say there are just too many incongruities for this to be just negligence.

TRUMP'S ASSASSINATION WAS PLANNED, AND THE GOVERNMENT WAS INVOLVED.  PERIOD

The US Secret Service is adjusting how it approves security plans and bolstering security measures for protectees in the wake of the assassination attempt against Donald Trump earlier this month, according to excerpts of congressional testimony Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe will deliver Tuesday.
 
Rowe, who visited the site of the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month, will tell senators from the Homeland Security and Judiciary committees: “What I saw made me ashamed. As a career law enforcement officer, and a twenty-five-year veteran with the Secret Service, I cannot defend why that roof was not better secured.”

According to the prepared remarks, Rowe has directed the Secret Service to have multiple experienced supervisors go through each security plan for all future protected sites and events.
 
Rowe visited the scene of the assassination attempt as one of his first actions as acting director “to better understand how our protection failed,” he will testify.

Facebook acknowledged that it mistakenly censored the iconic image of former President Donald Trump with his fist raised in the immediate aftermath of the July 13 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

A post on Mark Zuckerberg’s social media site by a user with the handle End Wokeness that showed the Republican presidential candidate defiantly pumping his fist in the air while blood streams down his face had initially been flagged as misinformation.
 
The user was threatened with being deplatformed.

However, on Monday, Dani Lever, a spokesperson for the social network’s parent company, Meta, admitted the tech giant made a “mistake.”

“Yes, this was an error,” Lever wrote on X in response to conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who had called out Facebook for not allowing users to share the photo.

Brand new footage has been released from the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life back on July 13 that was captured by Dave Stewart who attended the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The video shows local law enforcement officers in a desperate and frantic search for the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, before shots ring out. You can even hear Trump speaking in the background of the audio.

The video taken by Stewart was captured between 6:10-6:15 pm, while the shooting took place at 6:11 pm. A report from Fox News that was published on Monday said that text messages have revealed that law enforcement officers who were in charge of looking after the former president during the rally in Pennsylvania spotted Crooks and labeled him as suspicious 90 minutes before he opened fire on Trump and the crowd gathered there to show their support for his candidacy.

"You'd have to prove in some way beyond a reasonable doubt that [Crooks' parents] aided and abetted his ability to plan this attempted assassination or, in some way, knew what he was doing and provided him some means to do it," Pennsylvania-based attorney Matthew Mangino of Luxenberg, Garbett, Kelly and George told Fox News Digital. "That would be difficult to prove, I would think, beyond a reasonable doubt."

Mangino added, however, that "civil liability is a completely different story."

Pursuing civil action against Crooks' parents would require "a preponderance of the evidence that … they could have or should have intervened to protect, not only the former president, but the public," as well as the victim who died.

Double incompetence ... Double lack of communications
Apparently the snipers saw Crooks on the rooftop with a weapon well before the shooting.
However, they thought he was the assigned security sniper they had been told about.
The original plan stationed a sniper in the position Crooks set up his shot.
Cheatle, or somebody in authority, cleared the rooftop. A 'stand-down' order was issued.
However, none of the other security personnel knew about this.

When Crooks showed up on the roof armed, the other snipers assumed he was the security detail which they had been briefed.
This is why they hesitated to fire on him. Bumbling incompetence or a meticulous plan? As of now, nobody knows?

Let me remind you of "Operation Hurricane" where 51 intelligence people all signed on to a 'letter' agreeing that the Hunter Biden laptop was "Russian Disinformation".

I have a minimum experience with drones. There should have been as minimum of 6 drones in the air at all times. Ten would have been better.
