Crooks was very smart and well organized. I suspect he was also suicidal where he went into this without any exit strategy. It's hard to stop or impede people like that and we've seen this repeatedly with Muslim jihadis like on 9/11 and etc.

I have pondered on that a bit, and would assert that his exit was merely unrealized... at least two modes of transport in different locations... a car rigged to blow remotely... All that stuff had, or at least, may have had a purpose... a potential that remains undone... That leads me to believe there is a chance he was not suicidal, and thought he might get out.

The FBI is seeking to interview former President Donald Trump about his assassination attempt to obtain a victim statement, according to CNN. The interview is standard procedure for a crime victim.

The agency has maintained that the shooting was an assassination attempt and continues to examine evidence from the scene.

“Since the day of the attack, the FBI has been consistent and clear that the shooting was an attempted assassination of former President Trump which resulted in his injury, as well as the death of a heroic father and the injuries of several other victims,” the agency said in a statement on Thursday.

FBI Director Christopher Wray was questioned on Capitol Hill on Wednesday and said there was “some question” whether a bullet or shrapnel hit Trump.

Republicans, including the former president, have seized on the statement to raise questions about Wray’s leadership of the agency.

“No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday. “No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!”

Chris Wray, the head of the FBI, outed himself as a Trump "truther". He says that Trump was not shot by anybody. Trump was hit by random shrapnel which happen to be flying through the air and struck Trump's ear.

Wray is confused why everyone is making such a big deal out of it? After all, Trump was not shot.

Did they recover any unfired ammo? Eight* shots is just part of a 10, 20 30 round magazine's capacity.

*Eight, that is if all the shots were from Crooks' rifle. Sound signature analysis of the elapsed time between the (supersonic) bullets' arrival and the arrival of the sound of the bullet being fired had two distinct time frames.
If all the bullets were fired from the same place, by the same rifle, that lag between the arrival of the bullet and the arrival of the sound of it being fired should be consistent for all shots.

I am leaning heavily toward two offensive shooters (a pro and a patsy), and then the Security detail sharpshooter taking Crooks out.

That'd be neat... but a good portion of the area got coated by hydraulic fluid outta that boom lift that got shot... Highly contaminated... And I'd bet a good portion of the bullets hit that boom lift - and were shattered... So it's kinda roulette in reverse.

The FBI confirmed Friday that a bullet struck Donald Trump’s ear during the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pa. — two days after the top official at the bureau said there was “some question” about what hit the former president.

As the mystery of what really happened on the day that someone fired shots at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania deepens, one senator has added to the growing doubts that a lone 20-year-old shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was responsible for the assassination attempt.

In an interview, Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) shared his belief that multiple shooters and weapons were involved in the incident.

“Was it one rifle? Was it more than one? I’ve seen some pretty interesting video on the internet by experts that certainly calls into question what the FBI’s telling us about a single shooter,” he told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo.

“You know, I saw an extremely convincing video online, I know it’s all over the place. There were three distinct shots early on followed by another five in more staccato – more rapidly fired – and then the final one which we believe took the shooter out,” he said, adding that those behind the video have concluded that at least three different weapons were fired.
