This is a CYA.  If there was a heightened threat level, they would not have sent their understaffed B team, and they would not have made DOZENS of 'ROOKIE' MISTAKES.
My view is they knew about the threat assessment and made it EASIER for perpetrators to execute the threat.

We've been pondering those very points at my house. Isn't it S.O.P. in a shooting investigation to scour the grounds for every single spent round, every shell casing, and see whether they came from the same gun - and determine the point from which each round was fired?

They will recover nothing from the rifle from which the near fatal round came, The shell casing was still in the pro's rifle when he exited the scene.

Paul tested this... and found no difference to note... the differences are too insignificant to notice. Basically the same speeds and accuracy when shooting ammo with similar specs.

One would think that the team that was already in the building could have simply stepped outside and served as the reactonary squad, thus saving the officers in the video above the trouble of destroying that fence.

So many questions.... Did the kid scope out the area days before and happen to discover a 20 foot ladder? How did the gun get there, surely he didn't carry it in, it had to be stashed. If stashed, was it so well hidden that nobody could stumble across it... (or going conspiracy, was it put out for him at the last minutes with an inside job).

THese are people who should be prepared t place themselves between the President (or other principal) and 'take a bullet", but a mildly sloped roof is too dangerous?

They're saying he bought a 12' ladder (only 12'? Was the roof that low?) at Home Depot on Friday. I assume it was the HD in Bethel Park that is very close to his parents' house, unlike the rifle range at which he reportedly practiced.
