This whole thing about Biden resenting "the elites" is starting to make sense if you consider that by "elites", he means people who think they are smarter than he is.  And almost certainly are.

He was a poor student in undergrad, and a poor student in law school. Whatever their other flaws, most of the Democratic leadership has far better academic credentials than he does. And over the years, he's been criticized as "Slow Joe", etc..  Just not a very bright guy.  And he likely resents very much that is how he's been thought of his whole political career in Washington.

So now with all those elites who believe they are smarter than he is are trying to tell them he has to give up the presidency, he finally is in a position to tell them all to eff off.

I’m sorry, but this was not a president in command. This was a man whose sentences trailed off, who mixed up names, who admitted to needing to pace himself, who complained that his staff over-scheduled him, who rambled, who at times sounded like Uncle Rico reliving his glory days and who is in deep denial about his ability to do four more years or beat Trump. The stakes are simply too high.

Democrats have demanded 'death to Trump, for at least 7 years, and now want the amnesia effect to cover their ASSES now they nearly got someone to give into their open public demandeds.  Trump having survived, many are now believing it  an election winning event for Trump.  As stated before, the worst thing that can happen to fools is they get their way, the attempt on Trumps life.  Odd the secret service was so inept, like they were with Reagan, but not on protection democrats who lived charmed lives.  At least they would have us believe.
