I agree that he did not know he was leaving. Pete would not go quietly like that.

Through my genealogical programs and other tools I've used in teaching genealogy classes,  I might be able to be of some help.  Not wanting to be obtrusive, or infringe into Pete's privacy, but if anyone wants me to check,  PM with the  details you have.

@240B Pete and I were both in the same, very specialized, unit at different times during Vietnam. Pete and I never personally met but we surely did know of each other. "Yeah, I saw your name on some paperwork." "Yes, he was with XXX on operation YYY". That type of thing. When he wrote things about his time in the army here I generally knew what he was saying was true.

There is no such thing as a best handgun for home defense @DCPatriot that would be a 12ga. shotgun with an 18" barrel loaded with #3 buck or BBs.

That might do it.

That's really good news then. There's a good potential reason for his absence which is just a technical issue. I thought he purchased another computer previously and successfully got it setup in the past? If he did, then he had what he needed.

Nah. He gets a new pooter every few months. First place he comes is right here... I have helped him set up a new pooter many times.

Sad to say, Art (Sneakypete) Hines passed away on July 14 in North Carolina.  He was 77 years of age.  Another VN vet who will be missed.
