Russia Threatens to Seize Assets From U.S. and Allies

Russia has threatened the US and its allies over the seizure of $300bn of its assets.

Officials at Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that it could confiscate Western assets currently within its jurisdiction, in a tit-for-tat move following the freezing of billions in Russian holdings following the invasion of Ukraine.

In a statement relayed by the state-run news agency Tass on Telegram, Russia's Press Minister Maria Zakharova said that the country was considering seizing Western assets currently in the Russian Federation.

Any western companies or individuals who still have assets in Russia pretty much deserve to lose their assets because of their foolishness.

I thought investment in Russia was made illegal back during the beginning of the Ukraine invasion.  I remember many companies divesting at that time.  What is this $300B he speaks of.  Non-corporate entities?
