1 teen shot, 2 teens arrested, others twerk on cop car after Long Island 'senior skip day' turns to chaos

An annual "senior skip day" event resulted in one teen being shot as an unruly crowd of high schoolers took over Long Beach in Long Island, New York. The group of teens caused mass chaos on Thursday, with some twerking on a police vehicle and others getting into physical altercations.
Police said the mayhem sprung out around 6 pm local time after a swarm of more than 2,000 high schoolers cut class and went to the beach. Authorities reported that one teen was shot at the train station. Two teen suspects were arrested and taken into custody. The victim and suspects were not immediately identified and a gun was recovered from the scene, per the New York Post.
The victim's condition was not known on Friday evening.
Other weapons were later discovered in the chaos, including a knife, police said.
Local police were forced to call in Nassau County police for backup as the crowd continued to grow chaotic.
