Two Jordanian illegal aliens are in ICE custody awaiting deportation proceedings after attempting to breach the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, earlier this month. This incident is the most recent in a growing trend of dangerous aliens crossing our borders in record numbers under the Biden administration.
The two Jordanian nationals claimed to be Amazon delivery drivers, but failed to provide guards with any access credentials for the base. When asked to redirect their vehicle for further inspection, the men attempted to force their way forward until guards stopped the truck with vehicle entry barriers. Upon further vetting, both men were determined to be in the country illegally, and one is reportedly a match with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) terrorist watchlist. It was later revealed that one of the suspects was released into the country after crossing the border illegally near San Diego in April 2024, while the other had overstayed his student visa.
Following the incident, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.), along with the chairmen of several subcommittees, sent a letter to the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Department of Defense (DOD) requesting additional information. In that letter, Green demanded answers, arguing that, “the Department of Homeland Security’s relaxed vetting standards… have created an environment ripe for exploitation by individuals aiming to undermine the United States at its most critical points.” Several other congressional offices have also sent inquiries asking for further information on the incident.
