Who will RFK Jr. hurt more, Biden or Trump?

Former President Donald Trump blasted Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s announcement of Nicole Shanahan as his running mate in his 2024 independent campaign as a move that will harm President Joe Biden‘s reelection campaign far more than his own White House bid.

Democrats have long viewed Kennedy as a spoiler in the rematch between Biden and Trump, which the former president appears to agree with.

“RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters. I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America,” Trump wrote on Truth Social early Wednesday morning.

“His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is even more ‘Liberal’ than him, if that’s possible,” Trump said of Shanahan, a former Democratic donor.

Polling indicates that Trump’s claims may be true.

A recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll showed Trump beating Biden, 41% to 37%, with Kennedy pulling 15% in a hypothetical matchup. This is a 7 percentage point increase for Trump since February.

That same poll showed Trump is the first-choice pick for 43% of participants, Biden is the first choice for 39%, and Kennedy is the first choice for 17%.

I think it's too early to make such a prediction.  We need to see who Trump selects as his VP and whether or not Joe is going to be able to function; even as poorly as he is now.  I still think that the DEMS may have someone else that they will try to insert at their convention.  That would give Trump and RFK Jr., little time to campaign against.
