Texas Will ‘Hold the Line’ On Border Despite Federal Ruling

Texas Scorecard by Luca Cacciatore and Brandon Waltens | January 23, 2024

Texas officials pledge to continue protecting the border after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled federal agents can cut the fencing stopping illegal aliens from entering the state.

A source informed Texas Scorecard that if the federal government cuts any wire in the near future, it will likely be done via the agency’s patrol airboats, which still have access to Shelby Park’s portion of the Rio Grande.

Abbott posted pictures on Tuesday of the scene at Shelby Park, pledging to “hold the line” and “not back down from our efforts to secure the border in Biden’s absence.”

Lt. Col. Chris Olivarez, a DPS spokesman, also promised the state would “hold the line” a day before on X.

“Texas is the only state using every strategy & resource to protect its sovereignty, combat criminal activity, & discourage illegal immigration,” Olivarez stressed, adding that Texas will “maintain its current posture.”

CBS News reporter Camilo Montoya-Galvez later shared footage of Texas National Guard personnel setting up more razor wire near Shelby Park, which was subsequently shared to Abbott’s X account.

Meanwhile, the Texas Republican Party issued a stern challenge to the Biden administration: “come and cut it!”

Texas can still protect its own citizens outsidbe Federal jurisdictions.

Keep sending those illegal migrant buses, trains, planes, and zeppelins up North.

Are there still vagrancy laws?  That's what got John Rambo in so much trouble.

Mine the border.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Mine the border.

I've been proposing that for quite sometime. Problem would be somewhat resolved.  The only thing needed would be a clear message sent to other countries of our new policy of landmines at the border to protect our country.

Yes, a humanitarian issue would be argued, but how inhumane is it to allow gangs, terrorists, rapists, etc., to prey on our citizens? How inhumane is it to allow human trafficking?? Drug smuggling?  Fentanyl deaths?
