Instead of applauding the peace and teamwork Trump and Cruz have forged and following his lead, they're now furious with this conservative icon for not hanging on to the hate.  I simply don't get the thought process involved. @DCPatriot

:thud:  Spare me the crappola. This is the first time you've applauded Cruz or made him out to be anything but an enemy of MAGA and Trump. It's not hatred for Trump it IS the fact that Ted is turning his back on conservatives and conservatism.  Trump is neither.  He is a narcissistic populist with a goal of retribution. Ted for the most part backed Trump during his entire presidency, and you still found fault and criticized him -- well now all of a sudden you changed your tune because Ted endorsed Trump. BTW he endorsed Trump the last time around and that apparently wasn't recognized.

So, spare me your teamwork and peace rhetoric. It's almost laughable.  Sad actually.

I can no longer support either one of them.  Not too long ago I felt that Trump and Cruz would be an unstoppable powerhouse -- not any more.

Trumpers just can't help themselves with their attacks, acting exactly like the hard core Leftists in trying to cancel traditional Reagan Conservatives who refused to climb aboard the Trump Train.

So...GIVE...ME...A...FRIGGIN'...BREAK!

Yeah, that's right. Always no different. Conservatism stands in the way. They HAVE TO co-opt it or tear it down.
Doesn't matter, Liberals, RINOs, or populists, always the same.

I have to admit that I'm a bit embarrassed to realize it wasn't just the leftists who were guilty of implementing cancel culture. It's us too. There's a sense of purity regarding conservatism that has determined that anything less just won't be tolerated within those conservative circles. Failure to stay within the lines means you're doomed to conservative Siberia.

Few can out-conservative me (although several have tried), but I understand what it means to live in the real world with all the limitations it presents. I'm not a big Trump fan, but I'm not going to offer up the helm to leftists just to make my point. Especially after seeing the breakneck speed at which they're tearing down our republic. They're desperate and are eager to make hay while they have the power. My intention is to do what I can to prevent it. I'd love to have help from other conservatives, but there are many who are so self-righteously holy in their political stances that they seem unbothered by allowing the Dems to continue their destruction for 4 more years. Maybe the only difference between us is that they believe America will survive the Dems. I don't.

It ain't conservatives canceling people. It's the Tumpists.
And fear is a damn poor decision-maker.

Ted Cruz endorsing a Presidential candidate who personally insulted his wife is the act of a neutered eunich.

If Ted Cruz, Mike Pence, et al, are not willing to stand up and fight for their own families, whom or what would they be willing to stand up for and fight for?

A man who does not put his spouse and children before his ambition is a mangy cur.

Speaking for myself only, I don’t expect purity. I don’t even agree with my own wife on everything.

Purity is a bullshit idea made up by Moderates to accuse Conservatives. It's never been a thing, nor has it ever been true.

You and me don't agree all the way down the line. But I can see you from here, most times. There is plenty of room for difference, within the general parameters.

It's when you are COMPLETELY outside the lines.... well that's another thing.

Not me, champ.  I only vote for Conservatives.  The GOP nominee does NOT automatically get my vote.

Of course. It is THEIR JOB to sell me. It is not my job to buy. I am NOT going to buy something I do not want. And I don't want a damn thing from a big government right.

But you will... You'll drop your pants and bend for anything...Unless it's actual Conservatism.
And then you'll wonder why the Republicans are packed to the walls with RINOs.

Let me rephrase that.  If Karl Marx was the GOP nominee, and Donald Trump was the Democrat nominee, you would vote for Marx?

Key word - Anonymous.  I happen to know some of the people who wrote the Basic Text.  Rita Mae Brown was not one of them.
