My liberal s-i-l's late b-i-l was some kind of advisor at the Carter Center, working alongside Jimmy while spending many years in "Palestine," sucking up to the Palestinian Authority and sympathizing with their many travails at the hands of Israel.  *****rollingeyes*****

Did your liberal s-i-l's late b-i-l share the same racist views as the former racist POS President?

Today's news is a waste of time. Hour after hour of hagiography of Carter.   *****rollingeyes*****
They've had this footage ready for years, it'd be a waste to throw it out, you know.

IMO, Carter’s anti-Israel Pro-Pali-terrorist antisemitism more than offsets his work with Habitat for Humanity. Even his post-Presidency was tainted.

Yes. That and at the height of the inflation crisis, his solution was 'wear a sweater'. Might as well have said 'eat cake'.

I have no comments about James Earl Carter.
Jimmy Carter so hated Western Civilization that he assassinated the Shah of Iran to rebuild the Islamic Caliphate in the Middle East. Look at any picture of Iran and Afghanistan before Jimmah Caaata (the great 'tolerant' oh so 'intellectual' Liberal) reinstalled a seventh century barbaric murderer to the leadership of Iran because HE felt that Western-ism or Americanism was quote "unfair" to the native primitives.

Jimmy Carter did more to destroy the world than Hitler. Not because he is an evil person, like Soros, with evil intent. Jimmy Carter was just an innocent moron on a mission to so-called "fix" the world. Instead of fixing anything Jimmy Carter unleashed Hell on Earth in the garb of global Islamic Terrorism.

Jimmy Carter goes to his grave hearing the screaming of all the souls he personally caused to die, many in extremely horrible ways. Jimmy Carter is soaked in the blood of innocents, that he cause to die on his personal Crusade to fix the world in the way that HE personally saw it.

A stupid retarded Liberal trying to set everything right, getting millions of people killed instead. Jimmy Carter and Hitler are brothers. He dies with the blood of millions targeted only on his own head.

Linda Lavin, star of the TV show "Alice," has died at 87.
Quote
Linda Lavin, “Alice” Star and Tony Winner, Dies at 87: 'A Beautiful Soul'
Story by Victoria Edel, Scott Huver, Clare Fisher
People Magazine via MSN

Linda Lavin has died unexpectedly at the age of 87.

Lavin was a Broadway star and Tony nominee who guest-starred on Barney Miller before getting her own TV series, Alice. She returned to Broadway in the ‘80s and won a Tony, while continuing to appear on TV and in film. The actress had been promoting her new Netflix series No Good Deed and filming for her upcoming Hulu series Mid-Century Modern just a few weeks ago. Her unexpected death on Sunday, Dec. 29. was confirmed by her PR representative, per Deadline. The rep confirmed to the outlet that her shock death was due to complications from recently discovered lung cancer.

Lavin was born in Portland, Maine, in 1937. Both sets of grandparents emigrated from Russia, and her family was involved in the local Jewish community. Her mother, who had been a singer, encouraged her toward the theater. ...

Former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral will be held in Washington early next month as the culmination of roughly a week of remembrances, President Biden announced in a proclamation late Sunday.

Carter’s state funeral will take place at Washington National Cathedral on Jan. 9, 2025. Biden is expected to deliver one of the eulogies, having previously said Carter asked him to do so.

Flags will fly at half-staff over all government buildings for 30 days after Carter’s death, Biden said in his proclamation.

Carter is expected to lie in repose at the Carter Center in Atlanta on Saturday and Sunday. His body will then be brought to Washington, where he is expected to lie in state at the Capitol, according to The New York Times, allowing lawmakers and the public to pay their respects.

After the state funeral on Jan. 9, The Times reported that Carter will return to Georgia, where he will be buried in Plains, Ga., next to his late wife, former first lady Rosalynn Carter.

Carter died peacefully on Sunday in Plains, Ga., according to the Carter Center. He had turned 100 in October, making him the longest-lived president in the nation’s history.

:pondering: Different lights I think, Carter probably earned his way into the bright white light, Joe however will be drawn into somewhere with a much redder glow.

Linda Lavin Dies: ‘Alice’ Star & Tony-Winning Broadway Actor Was 87

Quote

Linda Lavin, the beloved veteran stage and TV actress known for her Emmy-nominated role in the 1976 sitcom Alice and for her Tony-winning performance in the 1986 play Broadway Bound, died today, Dec. 29. She was 87.

The news comes as a shock as Lavin has been working as recently as this month, promoting her new Netflix series No Good Deed and filming the upcoming Hulu comedy series Mid-Century Modern, on which she is one of the leads. She died unexpectedly due to complications from recently discovered lung cancer, her PR representative told Deadline.

A former child stage actor, Lavin started her Broadway career in the 1960s, appearing in the musical It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Superman as as well as the plays Little Murders and Last of the Red Hot Lovers, which earned her the first of three Drama Desk Awards and the first of six Tony Award nominations, respectively.

Being older and retired, Bidenomics didn't bite me as bad as was in 1979 as  22 year old just starting a a career.  No gas, long lines for gas, nightly reminders of Iranian Hostages , and most of all paying what seemed 5% more each time I went to the grocery store.

There's a piece of me deep down that resents Jimmuh more than Pedo Joe.  At least for personal impact.

Yes, I was that age during that time.  I just assumed that my cash flow issues were due to my working as a DJ, which didn't pay for crap.

:pondering: Different lights I think, Carter probably earned his way into the bright white light, Joe however will be drawn into somewhere with a much redder glow.

In Carter's case, he did better after he was POTUS than when he was, imho.
That redeems the man somewhat in my eyes, and he got to live long enough to be the third worst president...

Good man, basically, lousy POTUS.

Michael Cole, 84, died December 10th.

He played Pete Cochran on The Mod Squad[1968-73].  I loved that show when I was a kid.

I must be one of the few people who believe that Carter’s post-presidency legacy was, despite some mitigating work like Habitat for Humanity, far worse morally than his presidency.

Michael Cole, best known for his role in The Mod Squad, has died. He was 84.

On Dec. 10, the late actor — who made his mark as Pete Cochran in the 1960s police drama — died peacefully "surrounded by his loved ones after living a full and vibrant life," his rep confirmed in a press release.

"Cole’s talent, combined with his magnetic presence, made him a defining figure of the era," the release stated. "The Mod Squad not only made him a household name but also broke barriers by addressing themes of racial and social justice, with Cole’s performance helping to bring authenticity and heart to the series.  ...

After The Mod Squad aired its final episode, Cole went on to appear in Murder, She Wrote, Fantasy Island, Wonder Woman and The Love Boat. In 1990, he took on the role of adult Henry Bowers in the mini series adaptation of Stephen King's It. He also appeared as Harlan Barrett in General Hospital.  ... People

@Cyber Liberty ,   I used to be able to read Twitter threads, but can't any more.  I get one post, and that's it.  Is it because now you have to open a Twitter account to see threads?  Or is it something else?

This article may have some of the info in that X post:

Jimmy Carter’s Decades of Promoting Hamas and Undermining Israel

https://pjmedia.com/catherinesalgado/2024/12/30/jimmy-carters-decades-of-promoting-hamas-and-undermining-israel-n4935522

Quote
Years before Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Meshaal launched the Oct. 7 massacre, Jimmy Carter met with them and claimed they weren’t really murderous terrorists. Carter’s book falsely accuses Israel of attempted apartheid and willfully ignores Hamas’s insistence that it will never give up until they have taken over all of Israel, genocidally if need be.
...
Just as Carter ensured the destruction of a dictatorial but pro-Western regime in Persia (now pro-terrorist Iran — for which some Iranians still hate him) — and failed to resolve the lengthy American hostage crisis, he helped to strengthen and legitimize terrorists who are now trying to wipe Israel off the map, a goal which they always avowed, even though Carter denied it.

“Demanding an end to all terrorism before final negotiations only guarantees they [the negotiations will] never happen,” Carter insanely asserted in 2003.
...
Carter undermined other administrations’ strategies with Israel and Hamas too. Below is an interesting paragraph Stein drew from a 2009 New York Times piece about Carter’s press conference with Ismail Haniyeh, the top Hamas butcher finally assassinated this year:
I am not and never have been a leftist.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Jimmy Carter is dead, and like all Democommies, so too are many Americans that had the misfortune of having him as their Commander in Chief.  They died needlessly, and with a high emphasis on total incompetence on the part of Carter.

Carter cost me many tens of thousands of dollars with his idiotic super inflation.  I have zero love for the p****!

I remember her from Alice of course, but also Barney Miller. RIP.
She also had a memorable guest-starring role in Law & Order. A versatile actress.

Former Democratic Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman has died at age 82.

He was 82 years old,” the statement reads. “His beloved wife, Hadassah, and members of his family were with him as he passed.
